196... I think you might be correct about Liam Fox, he’s looking very ill-at-ease at Westminster.

David Davis was an excellent choice for the role of our Brexit Minister/Negotiator, because has all the qualities needed to perform the role he was given with aplomb. The role of sacrificial lamb. He takes direction well, he isn't the brightest bulb in the political box and he isn't the type to rock the boat by taking a courageous stance for what is right.

Theresa May constantly sticks to the same predictable strategies to maintain her position. She places her sacrificial lambs on the front line, gives them their orders and if things work out well she takes all the credit. If they don't work out she throws these gullible lambs on the funeral pyre to appease the angry mob and dilute the negative backwash.

She is wholly unsuited to a leadership position of any note. Her career has been based on skulking in the shadows and avoiding the centre stage where possible. On the rare occasions that she has been dragged out of the shadows to assume a more prominent position she has been a spectacular failure each and every time.

Theresa May has developed a complete understanding of all the players in the conservative party, in relation to their strengths and weaknesses. She knows exactly which strings she needs to pull to get them dancing to her tune and this has allowed her to scheme her way to the top.

Her woefully bad performance in the last general election, where she had to take centre stage, almost cost her that position. Against stronger opposition and with a longer run up she would have lost. A lot was made about the rise of Jeremy Corbin, but he isn't much better, all those haemorrhaged votes had to land in somebody's lap.

Unfortunately for us her tawdry little manipulations are only effective in her own party and in the wider political arena she has nothing to offer. She has zero charisma, no ability to think on her feet, poor debating/negotiating skills and a complete lack of empathy and moral fortitude.

One of the main reasons behind the lack of progress in the Brexit negotiations, which have exposed our country to the negative impacts of prolonged uncertainty, is that it is in her own best interest to delay the announcement of a final deal. With no plan and no clue we are destined to get a very bad deal and that predictable revelation will certainly mark the end of her. She is simply putting her own political and egotistical interests above those of the country, vainly clinging on to a position that her talent and ability can't justify her holding.

David Davis has done everything that was expected of him, which is nothing. With time running out and a poor deal on the horizon he has simply chosen to jump ship instead of waiting for Theresa to throw him on the pyre.

It's a sad state of affairs. Brexit could have gone either way. Lots of people are bemoaning how badly things are going but it isn't because Brexit was a bad move. We are simply being let down by a group of poor politicians who are placing themselves first, their party second, the supporters of their party third and the interests of our country and the people within it a very distant fourth. The Brexit process has simply revealed the catastrophically poor calibre of the politicians elected to represent us and with a better standard of politician things could have developed very differently.

Our political class is lacking the team spirit, sweat on the shirt philosophy and humility to make us proud.

Sean Dyche for Prime Minister?

Looks like Theresa May will have no deal and no cabinet. It's hysterical that absolutely everything that woman attempts goes tits up.

"Can you pay on the gate?" is the only stance she's got left with the EU now.

Hard to believe that Johnson would have resigned without a belief that he has the support for a leadership bid. He didn't hang on as Foreign Secretary because he was interested in doing the job and he hasn't quit because he's willing to watch this play out from the back benches. It's all about plotting his route to the top.

Of course, the thing with Johnson is that if he ever does get to be PM he'll probably resign the day after because he'd have no interest in actually doing the job, his ego just needs to know that he made it to the top office.

Financially, I'm bomb-proof so I'd be quite happy to see Johnson come in and make a huge ******** of the whole thing for the short time he lasts.

You just have to hope that the most ardent and er, principled of Brexiteers are just as well insulated. Mind you, it would be nice to see them to take a huge hit. That's what they voted for and won.

Who could they blame then ? The EU, no. Project Fear, no. Immigrants, no. They'll be out of scapegoats before you know it.

I think for the will of democracy a vote of no confidence in the PM has got to happen. Whether you are a remainer or not, democracy is what this country is built on, and when politics tries to contrive this we are going down a more serous route. Religion and politics worry's me immensely right now, considering they are supposed to be the corner stone of society. :(

How is what May doing (whether it’s a good idea or not) not democratic? The referendum result was to leave the EU and May is saying we’re leaving the EU.

Good riddance to David Davis a lazy self-serving individual.

Hilarious when the EU spokesman thanked him for the 4 hours of work that he had managed to put in during the last 2 years in Brussels on the Brexit withdrawal process.

She'll win (DUP still support her, and Tories won't vote for Corbyn) - and therefore nothing will change.
The only way that May can be challenged is for the Tory leadership, because this doesn't bring with it the threat of a general election, unless of course they were to elect someone who was unacceptable to the DUP, (i.e. a hard brexiteer who was advocating a no deal and by implication a hard border).

No point addressing me Wrongo, I blocked you, I can't actually see what you write because your posts are moronic and simply not worth reading.
I only read other poster's replies and when they quote you and then make you look utterly stupid, a prime example being martin_p's glorious post above.

So,

You block me. Not wanting to see my "moronic" posts.

I post laughing at you.

Then you post again claiming there's no point me addressing you!

What a mug!

You really didn't think that one through did you! :D

And you reckon my posts are "moronic"!

This whole scenario just shows you what the political class think of the ordinary person in this country.

Regardless of which side your from the referendum was binary in or out... as simple as that. Unfortunately for those who voted for the side which won the majority of the political class didn’t share those views and have since day one been looking to subvert the result. Unfortunately there aren’t many(any) parties to vote for come the next election. Labour should be sweeping the board the only thing stopping them is their hard left position

May’s awful premiership has all but guaranteed the Tories will be unelectable for the forseeable future.
