There’s limits to what i will believe..
So a couple go to a park find a small bottle take it home(alarm bells start right there) and it turns out to have a Russian nerve agent Novichok in it !!! I’m sorry but I’ve no idea what this debacle is really all about but that is complete BS...

As I understand it they had a habit of picking up cigarette butts (dog ends) so why not a small bottle?
It might have been a very pretty blue bottle.

You must live a sheltered life to find that incredible.SmudgetheClaret wrote:So a couple go to a park find a small bottle take it home(alarm bells start right there) and it turns out to have a Russian nerve agent Novichok in it !!! No offence Miller, really enjoyed you being on here and are clearly going to welcome the lucky ones with tickets with open arms, therefore do not wish to sound rude but; the lady has died mate, social background shouldn't matter.Millertime v1.7 wrote:The were skip diving jakeys. What is amazing is the Russian agent who was targeted, survived the super nerve agent.Maybe he had new super nerve agent antibiotics!
The whole story seems to reek of propaganda against Russia.

What I do with something like this is find an expert, and read what he has to say about it.
I wouldn't dream of suggesting such a sensible course of action to someone as knowledgeable as yourself, but this guy is good.

Anybody else also curious about how the proximity of our own “research centre” isn’t being mentioned in anyway as being a possible source?

It staggers belief that any person with an education can suggest that a major incident involving two of the world's leading powers is a propaganda story.Flatline wrote:What is amazing is the Russian agent who was targeted, survived the super nerve agent.Maybe he had new super nerve agent antibiotics!

The couple who found the vessel have obviously been contaminated with a far larger dose of the nerve agent than the Russian father and daughter.
This event is off the scale where diplomacy is concerned. The fallout, behind the scenes, will last for years.

It has been mentioned. It was mentioned regularly in the early days of the original incident. You and Russia Today are still talking about it.Deardeary wrote:Anybody else also curious about how the proximity of our own “research centre” isn’t being mentioned in anyway as being a possible source?

Obviously not.

Why? It's not like we've never been lied to before.Nonayforever wrote:It staggers belief that any person with an education can suggest that a major incident involving two of the world's leading powers is a propaganda story.

So you go to the trouble of trying to murder someone with a very potent and illegal chemical but fail. It's just slightly unlikely that you haven't done your homework on the dosage etc. So you then chuck it into the nearest wheelie bin and scarper. It's beyond a really crap episode of the Avengers from the 1960s. Wake up people FFS.Nonayforever wrote:It staggers belief that any person with an education can suggest that a major incident involving two of the world's leading powers is a propaganda story.

Except any alternative theory is at least equally(I'd say more) unlikely.Pimlico_Claret wrote:So you go to the trouble of trying to murder someone with a very potent and illegal chemical but fail. The conspiracy theorists, as usual, cling to the comfort blanket because, and I do understand this, it's actually more reassuring to think that our government is behind this and has it all under control, however madly and badly. Just like it's more reassuring to think our government knew everything about Saddam, down to what he had for breakfast, and made up some stuff rather than the scarier alternative that they don't know nearly as much as they need to to keep us safe.

Re: There’s limits to what i will believe..
A minority of people just love a conspiracy theory no matter how unbelievable it is. I'm a sceptical person myself and not apt to believe everything people tell me without checking that it seems plausible.
I still think the vast majority of conspiracy theories are crazy and put about by people who want to feel that they are cleverer than the majority.
The official story here (Russian(s), directly Putin backed or not, introduced this agent to the UK to target an "enemy of the state" and didnt care too much about any collateral damage) seems the best explanation to me.
I just hope the collateral damage is limited to the ones we know about already.
Putin's "bots" will be working overtime to feed the conspiracy theories though.
