I'm starting a new job next week and was wondering/hoping if someone could advise on the best route to take.
I live in Crawshawbooth and my new job is in Bolton (South), near the train station. When I went for my interview in the afternoon I took Holcombe Road over to Ramsbottom then Bolton Road, etc. - as in link. The traffic wasn't too bad but it took about 45ish minutes.
Is there a different/better way?
Thanks

The motorway route is liable for long delays, through death valley and widening going on, I believe. Hawkshaw is as good as any. I’m not sure why you chose Holcombe Rd over Edenfield/ Rammy? Has it got that bad?

Check AA route planner.
The motorway route is 5 minutes quicker but 20 miles longer.

I did this route for years and your original one was my preferred option.
There are so many variations on this (Through Breightmet, or Little Lever, or Motorway) that I'd suggest you try them all. Obviously, the time of day that you are travelling can make a huge difference and when the kids are in or out of school.
Strange town is Bolton. Used to be a beacon of light in the North-West... now it's just a ****-hole!

Not really. You can go through Helmshire over Holcombe. Nicer scenery but not much shorter route but you don't have to go.through Ramsbottombmfc wrote:I'm starting a new job next week and was wondering/hoping if someone could advise on the best route to take.
