If Everton come in for Mee then it's more than likely he will want to go
and as long as we're happy with the fee then we should let him go asap.
No point keeping someone who wants out.
Timing will be significant as we may need to move fast and a like for like replacement
isn't too likely and will no doubt cost. Possibly more than we could get for Mee.
20m for Mee. Would we take it?

A relatively experienced PL centre back for 20 million is too expensive according to some on here so no, we should be getting about 10 million seeing as he's in the last year of his contract.

City have a 40 % sell on fee so wouldnt really be worth it

Ben Mee isn't good enough for Everton. Not enough pace and mistakes in hI'm. Would be exposed as top clubs like to bomb forward.
Let's swap him for Keane coming back.

Simply can’t afford to lose him. Hope he sings a new deal . He’s another one I’ve grown to love over the years. Our defence without him simply doesn’t look right

Not a chance he's signing a contract now. Everton are one of the few clubs I could see him realistically moving on to.

Unless it was a record breaking fee it would be ludicrous to sell him. and even then it would be foolish.
50m, 40 percent to city. and no centre half. We get 4 times that if we stay up.

Everton fans would be underwhelmed with going for Ben Mee...they will look further afield for a bigger fish.

Agree Tim, most Everton fans I talk to, think Keane is crap. Don't think they would want another Burnley centre back.

So IF a transfer rumour for once is correct, and IF Ben Mee has heard such good things of Everton from his friend Michael Keane that he can't help but want to leave, and IF Ben Mee is of the character to go on strike, and IF we can't get a replacement, then we might be in trouble. Oh deary me.

Don't worry Everton will have their fair share of happy clappers with low standards who just trust in Silva no matter who he brings in

I still don't think you get it. The reason
some of us trust Dyche so much is because he has shown over 6 years that he has been an outstanding manager. He's earned the trust above and beyond what a new manager would have.
I don't accept your implication that trusting Dyche no matter who he brings in, is being a happy clapper with low standards. I've never seen Dyche as being a manager with low standards, and I'm surprised that anyone does. Even you.

If Everton really want him badly enough we sell for £20million or more and happily give City their share.
Any other policy just creates bad feeling.

He either signs or he gets sold in my opinion. He's a top player and someone I called out as our future CB and captain when we had Shackell and Duff at the back, but nobody is bigger than the club and simple maths come into play. If we sell for £20m and give City £8m we're still left with £12m to put towards a replacement. Gibson from Boro would likely be available for less than £20m and he's a left sided player we could sign on a 3, 4, 5 year deal!
Even as a PL club we can't afford to lose assets for nothing at the end of a contract. We don't have the excess funds to bring in replacements, no matter which way you put it.

Colleague of mine is a big Everton fan. He asked about Ben Mee after being linked with them and his comment was "Was it Mee who made Keane look good because Keane isn't doing too great for us?"

Club should probably know by now whether he’s signing or not. Fact we tried to sign Mawson, a player probably too good to spend a season on the bench, suggests the latter.

If he goes let's hope we get a replacement, pointless keeping someone who doesn't want to be here if that's the case, or maybe he does want to stay only he knows.

Everton have announced the signing of Lucas Digne from Barcelona so they no longer want Ben.

I think its you who doesn't get it. It was a light hearted joke because of the reaction of people to me using the term the other day. Lighten up a bit its only a football messageboard and football and Burnley is for fun and enjoyment and doesn't need to be taken so seriously
