our goalie's question
If hart arrives, will that be some kind of record with 3 england keepers all at one club at the same time ?

Re: our goalie's question
I reckon so.
And I can guarantee something - people will still complain and cry like a baby.

I am not going to complain, I just don't understand this signing. Is Heaton injury much worse than we are led to believe. Hart isn't here to sit on the bench, he could have stayed at City on a much higher wage for that. So if Heaton return is fairly imminent, what then? If Pope is returning in January, how can SD keep them all happy

Re: our goalie's question
I thought the same, is the Heaton injury worse than made out? Who knows? We will have 4 international keepers if Hart comes because Lindegaard is/was a Danish international. Happy days.

Re: our goalie's question
In fact we would have 4 international keepers
Re: our goalie's question
The strength of Heatons shoulder is surely an unknown until tested, which is also the same for Pope 3 or 4 months down the line. Should Heaton not be able to regain 100% fitness quickly we have one fit and able keeper i.e. Lindegaard who was the number 3. Great business to bring in Hart, so many times we talk about having a 4th CB and no insurance for injuries, I think by bringing Hart in it shows we are taking the insurance route before the window shuts on Thursday and we are left with possibly one fit keeper.

Re: our goalie's question
£4m for Hart is a 6 month deal with Man City picking up his wages. The other two will be fully fit by the Jan window when decisions will be made about who stays and who goes.
Hart gets himself in the shop window by playing regularly and doesn't have to fully commit to BFC.

Re: our goalie's question
it says a lot that hart wants to come here knowing he'll have to fight for his place.
pope can take his time coming back make sure he's right. and the thing with dislocated shoulders is that they can be a bit like pringles as charlie austin can testify. once they pop...
this is a brilliant bit of business by burnley.

Re: our goalie's question
Who`d have thought it all those years ago!!!!!!???
Incredibly interesting `love triangle` we have here and who the hell knows how it is going to pan out!!!!??? Today`s gut-feeling is ...
Hart in, plays and does well.
Heaton recovers from injury...waits patiently.
Hart has a dip and drops a couple of clangers.
Heaton back in the team and cements his place.
Pope returns to fitness and his agent pushes through a sale in the January transfer window as Heaton signs a new 3-year deal.
Hart leaves as a free agent at the end of his contract.
We buy a viable 2nd keeper to compete with Heaton.
I WISH Pope was our long-term keeper but just can`t see it happening. Without his injury, he would have played, excelled and been off, if not in the January window, then 100% in after the season`s conclusion.
The above is option 1...37 other permutations exist.

Re: our goalie's question
I didn't know the details of the deal. If it is a 6 month contract only with City paying for most of his wages, this is understandable. However this was not what I was lead to believe initially

Re: our goalie's question
I was under the impression it is a 3 year deal but I agree with quoon, terrific signing if we can get it over the line.
Re: our goalie's question
It's a strange move. Perhaps Heaton's injury is worse than the club is letting on, or he's on the way out.

Re: our goalie's question
I am guessing what was meant by a 6 month deal was that it will be 6 months before Heats and Pope are back fully fit. If so we could choose to offload Hart and probably not lose much money. If it doesnt work and Heats or Pope become no1 again then the 4m will have been for having him as a no1 for 6 monthsgtclaret wrote:I didn't know the details of the deal. No way would we pay 4million for a 6 month deal regardless of position. And rightly so

Re: our goalie's question
Everyone seems to be thinking that Hart will walk in and take over but the missing link here is Lindegaard. Okay it's been two Europa games but he's done nothing wrong so far and Hart is far from on top of his game. Delighted we got him as goalkeeper cover must now be as good as anywhere but I don't think Hart is a shoe in, not yet at least.
Having said that I have a great memory of watching Hart play for City away in Germany a year or two ago (Dortmund) and he was the only thing that came between City and a real good hiding. But for Hart there would have been no point coming out for the second half as it would have been all over at half time. Bizarrely City wound up with a point they didn't deserve. It was one of the finest goalkeeping performances I have ever witnessed, similar to Heaton at Old Trafford.
