For those travelling to Istanbul
I know many will be flying tomorrow, I know someone going in the early hours.
Wish I was able to join you but hope those of you going have a really good and enjoyable trip and I hope the Clarets can give you a good performance and all of us a good result.
Enjoy all of you.

Thanks. Just happy to go after my late father was one of the few who made it to Frankfurt in 1967. Thought I’d never see the day UTC.

Not that long ago Dyched, it was the 2-0 defeat at Anfield in 2015. That was due to a back problem, couldn't get out of the chair let alone travel to Liverpool.Dyched wrote:When was the last time you missed a competitive game CT?

Not aslong ago as I thought. At least it was a defeat. You’d probably still in the chair in pain had we won 4-0ClaretTony wrote:Not that long ago Dyched, it was the 2-0 defeat at Anfield in 2015. That was due to a back problem, couldn't get out of the chair let alone travel to Liverpool.

Last win I missed was in late 2011. I was ill and missed the trips to Hull & West Ham (both won). That Liverpool game is the only one I've missed since.Dyched wrote:Not aslong ago as I thought. At least it was a defeat. You’d probably still in the chair in pain had we won 4-0

Up and at em. Just about to depart. First stop manchester airport. Then a relatively short flight to Greece at 6am. Then a nightbus to istanbul tonight at 10pm local time.
Going to be a long few days but worth it. Never thought this would happen and couldn't miss it or let the two boys miss it.
Safe trip to fellow clarets and see you all there.

That was the last Burnley game I went too. Sat in the worst possible seat, 2nd row level with the touchline.ClaretTony wrote:Not that long ago Dyched, it was the 2-0 defeat at Anfield in 2015. That was due to a back problem, couldn't get out of the chair let alone travel to Liverpool.

Carports flying into SAW airport for 1740 today. Is anyone already there who has used Havabus to get to centre of Istanbul or alternative transport? Is the metro open yet?

metro is under constructuion. Havabus would cost less than 2£ to travel to city centre, so is a nice choice.Carport wrote:Carports flying into SAW airport for 1740 today. Is anyone already there who has used Havabus to get to centre of Istanbul or alternative transport? Is the metro open yet?

i dont know if it is against rules of this forum, as my recent post about this issue was deleted.
I just wanted to tell at least %50 of the seats of home team will be empty. and it is easy to buy them.
if you tried all the way getting a ticket from Burnley seats, couldnt get, and still want to watch the game...this is a way.
but in Turkey you cant just buy ticket and enter in stadium. You need to have a special card, which usually takes 7-10 days to get one. But there is a trick to get a temporary card in a few hours and watch the game.
i would copy links to get card, and buy game ticket. but as i mentioned before, i think it seems to be against forum rules.

How many did we end up selling for Istanbul? I think CFC posted on here that we’d sold over 300 by lunchtime on Saturday. Did we managed to sell many more?

That was almost funny. I said I'd never see another game with 11 goals at that level. Later in the season we had Burnley 4 Watford 7.claret wizard wrote:I wasn't going until yesterday afternoon for sure. Re: For those travelling to Istanbul
Hi all,
As far as I understand everybody makes their own way to the stadium tomorrow unless club organizes transfer to the ground.
I am planning to organize a shuttle bus from stadium back to airport and then city center, old town and Taksim. This will be £ 10 per person or 70 Turkish lira.
This will be a minibus with 15 persons capacity. There will be a person outside stadium around the away end, holding a signboard ''Airport shuttle Burnley Fans'' if anyone wants to join feel free to whatsapp on 0090 533 708 51 97
Safe travel & enjoy your time in Istanbul...
