Aberdeen - furthest away game we will ever play in britain. Go all that way and we play for a draw.
Istanbul - furthest away game we will probably ever play competetively. Go all that way and we play for a draw.
Southampton - one of furthest away games we will play domestucally. And after spending all that time and effort and money on the other games we play for a draw.
Three poor opponents and just one goal.
Raced back for nowt.
We need to start scoring some goals we look in trouble already. Hope Vydra is fit soon

Played for a draw today? Did you watch it? They came back into it with half an hour to go but we didn’t play for a draw before that!

We certainly didn't look like we were playing for a draw, especially in the first half where their goalkeeper well and truly kept them in it.

We didn’t play for a draw for 65 minutes. Then we tired after a long trip and settled for a point.
Decent performance and if we’d have taken one of the chances in the first half, I’m confident we would’ve gone on to win.

Have to disagree. A long way off what would be considrered full strength coming on the back of a Thursday night trip to Istanbul, that is an excellent result.

There was a dearth of goals last season and I would expect more of the same this season. We look well organised defensively and have some great goalies. I think we'll be involved in some damn ugly games this season but it may keep us up.

We were terrific first half and defended well when we had to 2nd half. Anyone who thought we were disappointing should try watching without their blindfold on

I really don't think we played for a draw at all, we just didn't have the clinical finishing in front of goal today.

I would have certainly taken a draw with our bolted together side before the game
but on watching the game now I am a bit miffed that we didn't take all three for the first half hour they was only one side in the game
And three good saves from their keeper kept them in it

Not seen the game so I can comment. Following a trip to Turkey just three days ago and now an away trip to Southampton, with a depleted squad, I’d have taken two draws if offered beforehand.
From a fans perspective, we do of course want goals, especially for those such as yourself who have put the time, effort and money into attending both games.
Bigger picture though, it’s a decent away point and we’ve a reasonable chance of getting into the next stage of the European qualifiers.

If the OP is serious and thinks we went into today's game playing for a draw, when we could have been out of sight by half-time, continuing our form and creating chances up until the latter stages of the game, when we understandably faded, it shows they know f@ck all about football

Football isn't just about scoring goals it's about defending as well.
We did that excellently today. We are solid at the back.
With Vydra to come, Defour and Brady to return, we'll be getting pace and creativity up front.
Chill out.
The futures bright.

Ffs. Ive literally only just got off the plane.
Sounds like we dominated, played very well and should have won it. An excellent result in the circumstances. and sounds like an excellent away following again.
Great times to be a Burnley fan.

Well played by clarets...I was there, we must score by the way...too many tiki taka **** in some situation...we hate guardiola so get the ball inside and wood or vokes scores... a draw is a good point mate...don’t be shy

Last season we would have taken a couple of those chances as we did at Chelsea and West Ham. Wasn’t to be today but after 60-65 minutes of dominating the game Southampton finished strongly and we did the right thing by taking the point.
Today shows exactly how far we have come. We looked far better than Southampton on their own patch for long periods and are understandably slightly disappointed not to have taken all 3 points. I don’t think this season will be a walk in the park but I saw enough today to suggest that we have enough to finish comfortably clear of the drop zone.

The three clubs who spent big-Fulham, West Ham & Brighton all lost. Proves you cannot buy yourself success. If these teams go on a bad run then these new players face the risk of a new manager. The next manager then states "its not my team !!"

Great performance from the lads today. Should have been out of sight by HT, we looked sharp and positive going forward.
Understandably tired from about 65 mins but that shouldn't be a surprise considering our travels etc. Some of the football we played was very good and we looked far better than Southampton.
I already have seen enough to know that we will have another good season. This squad and manager won't let it be any other way.

AC Milan won Serie A in 1993/94 by scoring the grand total of 36 goals.
Defending well (which we are ******* brilliant at) is an extremely important part of the game.
Stop reacting like a 14 year old school girl.

It was Saints who looked tired, not us.
We looked anything but.
Very poor from Hughes's lot, but we didn't let them play.
Excellent from us.

I’d happily pay to watch us defend! But sorry, that was anything but playing for a draw!
