Palace Fans Tonight v Liverpool

Post by vinrogue » Mon Aug 20, 2018 6:00 pm

Will be interesting to see how this plays tonight. Apparently the vocal Ultras in the corner wanted to be shifted to the middle of the goal for maximum effect, but the club wouldn't during the summer move the season ticket holders already behind the goal. Ultras are threatening to take their flags and singing elsewhere?? Anyone else heard about this? I envy the support that section of their ground generates, always impressive.

Haha. Threatening to take their flags away? Hilarious if true.

Not sure I'd want to move my seat just because some beardy hipster who watched too much Football Italia wants to get on telly more.

We have people who don’t want to move their seat in a family stand so people with an actual need for the family stand can use it

Huddersfield is far louder but that's pre fabricated drum bashing as well.

That Wilfred Zaha song just doesn’t fit. Doesn’t sound right at all.

Like when we used to have the Andy Cooke song.

Really?

You mean some fat bloke simply banging a drum for 90 minutes?

That's all it is, or at least was when we played there!

I dont think Palace is a good atmosphere at all. It’s dozen fans singing shite songs for 90 minutes. Much like our lot.

Looks like Vinrogues info was spot on. The flag bearing + constant singing corner crew have gone. It has definitely had an impact on the usual Selhurst Park noise level.

The atmosphere at palace is miles better than at the turf.

Palace did not have the extra man last night when they really needed that number 12 from the Ultra fans who have dispersed around the ground. The Liverpool fans were loud all evening (on the TV) and rarely drowned out by the home support. Maybe an x factor that could come back to bite Palace in the rectum?

It's such a shame, because even in the old 4th division there was a good atmosphere. On Sunday, you could hear all the players talking through the telly like you would on a reserve game. It would be better against Liverpool, of course.

Zaha getting injured is all they need to have serious problems this season.
