I'm concerned some older people could become alienated from some sections of society.

Do with need another Brexit related thread linking to an article from 2016?
Can this be merged with one of the 100 others?

Meanwhile the hideous loudmouths who moan about how it will hinder "young people" conveniently forget this lot couldnt even be bothered to get off their lazy arses to vote. boll**** to em i say

I feel bad even starting the thread, I used to do volunteer work for age concern so still talk to old people time to time, I just felt with what's going on it should be discussed ideally on a broader stage, I'll try to delete the post if I can.

If the polish people don't like the east lancashire people having a crispy duck takeaway now and again I can't see that being a problem tbh :D

I hadn't seen the stats in the OP's linked article before.

Here's a similar set on the 2017 General Election:

Couldn't have put it better myself.

Good effort.

The ridiculous idea that because , after 2 years following the Vote, those that were 16 then, are now 18 but didn't get a vote! So we should now have a rerun! Means we would be in a perpetual state of Neverendums as there'll always be 16 year olds......

And I guess the young don't feel alienated at all?

- Born EU citizens with the right to study, live, love anywhere in Europe, taken away.
- The commercialization of education leading to starting life with huge debts
- The first generation to be poorer in real terms than the one before
- Inheritance the largest factor in someones wealth since Edwardian times
- Owning a home a near impossible dream unless propped up by the wealth of your parents.
- Ever increasing amounts of tax going to healthcare for the growing aged population whilst money for things they use schools, services, communities, roads cut.
- Large numbers of young people expecting to work until death.

Sounds rosy!

And all of the above , while we've been members of the European Union.

No wonder their wiser elders voted for their futures and got us out eh!?

Correlation = Causation :roll: :roll:

At least now we can get rid off all those pesky EU laws which stopped us from dealing with the above.

I don't see where he blamed any of those things on the EU and only the first is a result of the referendum.

That's all good & well & by that same token, it's a simple case of post 2016 old people feeling alienated without exploring a myriad of other factors, some old people still have they marbles intact as another poster eloquently implied differently. In my view the old people are more with it than the younger people I'm actually suggesting it's warped.

Fair enough. You could go down the correlation / causation argument. But that would simply result in yet another rerun of the pre referendum debate. Can't be arsed....

But inarguably all that was mentioned in the list of grievances have happened while in the EU.

Last time I looked , Canada isn't in the EU.....

Me and the Mrs are going out in the car shortly before the game starts.

I'm having to drive cos I can hardly be expected to walk in this state!

Go on just for little old wine drinker me!

I think what i said is pretty clear. Your argument, and yes i'm generalising the Leave argument, is that leaving the EU will affect people coming here, but won't affect people going there. Obviously that's a stupid argument, yet here you are arguing that people here wanting to live, work, love there won't be affected.
