Re: Turf Moor Comparisons
I actually prefer the old stands to the new ones, they’ve a grim grandeur about them and the just say ‘Burnley’.
Sadly, they will be replaced long, long, long before the two new stands which are far more embarrassing in my opinion.

Turf Moor is the best name for any stadium in any sport. End of discussion.

Not widely known that the 'Turf' element of Turf Moor is derived from the horseracing track that originally covered the football and cricket fields way back in 1837.

Or, you could do what the Philadelphia Phillies did when they played in their original home, the Baker Bowl. Don't spend a penny on maintenance, use sheep to keep the grass down, use nails in the wall in your change room for the players to hang their street clothes on, and wait for one of your grandstands to collapse and kill a few of the paying customers.....twice. Unbelievable, but true.

The good old days...
Edit: When I first saw this photo, I thought it was a fun picture from another time but then the thought crossed my mind....how many of these young lads and Burnley men went on to die in the First World War?

Forget the youth. They don't know anything, anyways. They'll eventually become like us old f*rts, and come to love The Turf. Imagine tearing down Fenway Park or Wrigley Field for some modern monstrosity. There literally would be riots in the streets. If you get a chance, check out Miller Park in Milwaukee. Looks like ET has landed. Their fans would give up whatever that is for Wrigley in a nanosecond.

Were flat caps given out for promotional purposes in the old days?

And from the looks of that board at the back, free phonetics lessons were offered, too.

Re: Turf Moor Comparisons
Once the disabled facilities are sorted, say by 2025
they can look at the Bob Lord/Cricketfield stands.
I'm not sure the Club will be interested though to be honest because the people that use them enjoy the comfort of the extra room and the view and those I've spoken with don't see a need for change.
Catering and toilet facilities can always be upgraded without the need for a rebuild.
From a personal perspective, I love the view of the pitch and bonus outdoor scenery from JHU but like the modern Stadia. I wouldn't want an out of town move but wouldn't mind if we had changes at TM.
Stoke, Leicester and Derby have kept a good vibe going despite moving, the aversion some of our fans have to change would last until changes were completed.

Speaking of "geographic" stadia, The Creek is kind of neat, too. (I challenge you to find out where that is.)

Re: Turf Moor Comparisons
I'd rather we give Dyche an extra 20 million to buy a player, nowt wrong with the Turf !
Re: Turf Moor Comparisons
I've said before, Goodison Park the other side from the church. Build a stand or terracing all the way back from the pitch to Harry Potts way and have a proper second tier smaller on top like the floating second tier on the North bank at Highbury.

if they've got a good accountant then an investment in such a stand might be tax deductable and also provide a bit of local work and to up the status of Turf Moor by a mile.
