Shelvey, Allen, Delph(!) - just not realistic for a second
We need to be looking at players at Norwich, Brentford, Rotherham etc - we are a major attraction for clubs outside the PL, it’s our main selling point and we need to use it
A. we will NOT offer 25m for J-Rod or anyone else.
B. we need to stop signing bloody Championship players because.....they are Championship players. If they weren't bigger PL clubs than us would be buying them.

Possibly a couple of keen, fearless young players?
As well as one or two proven players.

We've nothing much to lose and I think we may need to take a few risks too
and hope they come off.

Who they might be I don't know.
That's not my job but hopefully Rigg will come up with one or two?

Not sure Jayrod should be one of them and he probably wouldn't come
now if he thinks we may be going down and West Brom still in with a chance of going up.
Apart from that I think Jayrod at 20m+ would be far too much.
We'd lose 10m+ on him if we were to be relegated.

Much prefer if we spent 20+ on two young players. Even if it's a risk.
Dyche wouldn't know what to do with 'keen and fearless'.

Rigg has already stated that signings will be very thin on the ground in January, no surprise there then, our board has never been a speculate to accumulate type of organisation, if we were playing well i wouldn't blame them for keeping money in the coffers but our situation is a desperate one at the moment. Who can blame SD for being p....d off with the board. Everyone knows our squad needs strengthening but the board dosnt seem to give a toss if we are staring relegation in the face.

Do we or do we just need to improve the supply to the ones we have who have already (Vydra aside) proven that they can do it at this level to a standard that we need.

I think we either need a striker or at the very least a goal scoring midfielder (which are probably as expensive as strikers). Having said that we might even have the player we need in the form of Vydra who, for some reason known only to a select few, Dyche will not use.

We need quality desperately. The problem is we will now have to pay more and we are a less attractive proposition to incoming players than we were pre season. That was the time to do it.

If we remain in the bottom 6 come Jan we are going to find it difficult to recruit any "known" quality
Not only will potential incoming players be thinking whether they are quickly heading for relegation, but the Board will no doubt also be vigilant with future spending (and given the many plaudits they receive for financial stability you couldn't beat them with a stick over that stance)
Hate to say it, but loans may have to be an answer.
It means players come in knowing they will be going back to their parent clubs at the end of the season and the Board will see this as a short term financial outlay so far less financial risk
Loans will most likely have to be players not getting current game time with other Prem clubs but there are some reasonable pickings to choose from
Solanke - although may be persuaded by 40,000 gates and Europa to go to Rangers
Maitland-Niles - can cover wide left where Brady has not reached the form before injury and can also play LB given Ward is still injured at present
Zinchenko - has covered a number of positions in midfield/lb for City in cup games
McTominay - could add height and strength to midfield
There should be many other examples where Mr Rigg should have the knowledge to bring in low cost additions until the end of the season

If we go in for Charlie Adam then I will be really dissapointed, surely we can do better than that.
