Parking Advice for Arsenal

Post by levraiclaret » Fri Dec 21, 2018 11:23 am

Has anyone got any parking advice for near underground/rail stations for Arsenal tomorrow.

I will be driving down the M1.

Thanks and Merry Christmas.

Don't try and park near the ground. I'd suggest parking on either a Piccadilly line station (something like Arnos Grove) or a bit further out on the Welwyn Garden City to Finsbury Park line (something like Welwyn or Potters Bar).

Cockfosters has quite a large car park and is on the Piccadilly line to Finsbury Park.
Postcode is EN4 0DZ

Takes 21 minutes from station to station.

There is also a Garage next to the station at Cockfosters with M & S attached for toilets, food, drinks etc.

You could try somewhere like Hitchin. On the same line and all trains from Kings X stop there. Only alternate ones stop at WGC and Potters Bar. If you do try that, J9 on the A1M for Letchworth is your best bet as it is quicker to the station rather than the Hitchin junction 8. Big car park which I think is about £2.70 for the day and a fast train is about 25 mins either way. You could also use Stevenage for the same reasons, J8 off the A1M and plenty of parking there too.

Cockfosters is a good shout if you get there early enough - I'd recommend signing up for the parking app in advance though for cashless payment - the machines there are temperamental and often busy. I think its Dash App for that station...

Five across the back, four across the middle (i.e. edge of penalty area), striker in behind the midfield four. Sit tight.

The benefit of the options I have posted is that you will be ahead of where you would be if you park in London, as it is a short drive onto the A1M, well clear of the London traffic and you are a good 45 minutes further up the country than you would be if you parked in London. Anyway, just my opinion but it has worked for others in the past.

If you go to Cockfosters and the car park is full, just carry on down the road for a short distance and turn left into a housing estate. Parking restrictions there are Monday to Friday (or were last season).

Expensive parking around Arsenal especially for coaches and buses so I expect we will be parking a few buses on the pitch like last weekend...

Cockfosters is good, also Stanmore station has a good sized car park (though most car parks will probably be far busier this time of year). Then down the Jubilee line.
Very easy getting away from Stanmore, right at the bottom of the M1.

Can also park at Luton airport parkway just off the M1 and get the train into st Pancras then the tube up. Or you can get the train to West Hampstead and then the overground to Highbury and Islington.
