I feel terrible for the boy. He's been absolutely outstanding and an example of committment for the rest of the team. My respect for his crazy work rate, for what he's shown so far without anyone really expecting anything from him.
He was making great progress as well. Hopefully he can keep doing so and we have him back soon.
For the team it's a blow as well but it doesn't have to be. Up to our other wingers now to show what they can do. Plenty of talent in the squad to catch up his injury. If it would happen to Berge or Taylor we'd have bigger problems.
I agree Anthonini. As gutted as I am, losing Berge or Taylor would be a lot worse.
Also have crazy respect for Koleosho for his work rate which is outstanding. Nobody has really caught for the shirt in the same way he has this season. An absolute grafter and I respect that so much. I can put up with some dodgy final product when you’re doing the dirty work.
I thought Kompany got it spot on in his press conference when he said words to the effect of ‘it’s now time for another player to fight for the shirt like Luca has’.
Maybe more clinging on to this because it’s who I’d like to see, but Odobert was the first name Kompany mentioned as alternative options in that position. Then Tresor. I’m hoping that’s the pecking order now.

Well that's our season over and there goes our biggest profit for at least 12 months.
Hope he makes a full recovery and ahead of schedule, to be so promising at 19 then have a knee injury is always a scare. Ings never reached the heights he should have due to his injuries, Jay too but perhaps to a lesser extent. Hope he comes back as he was and ideally soon enough to still give us a chance of survival.

Koleosho is a tremendous prospect, but his injury gives Tresor/Redmond/Odobert/Larson/Zarourry/Benson the chance to step up. The loss will be compounded if JBG is asked to do that job, as he just does not have the pace or creativity when breaking quickly, to trouble the opposition. For me the chance for Tresor to show why we got him for the alleged fee quoted

He was in the Trafford centre today with crutches and a knee brace. Probably indicates ligament damage of some sort

From what I've seen, when other players have done this ubiquitous ACL injury they crumple up immediately and are in utter agony and basically can't stand up and are stretchered off. I'm thinking of Sam Vokes and Ashley Barnes as just two examples. Koleosho was clearly hurt, but actually tried to carry on and "run it off". Whilst that probably wasn't the best thing to do in hindsight, surely it points to his injury not being what you normally expect with ACLs. Maybe.
I tried to play on when I did my ACL, lasted a few mins. That was over 15 years ago and I haven’t played properly since! Got back to kick arounds but was never the same. I assume he’ll not be on with the NHS though

Just wondering...
If you don't know what it is then how do you know that it isn't an ACL?

Why can’t you just accept The update Tony had given that it isn’t an ACL but is unsure exactly what it is … he isn’t the team doctor you know

Maybe that's Benson's issue? He's on the waiting list!!

I’d play Odobert the lad has at least scored two goals so far.

Up to you whether you choose to believe me or not but I’ve posted that it’s NOT an ACL.

I’m in hospital for a knee operation next week - ACL
I’ve been told 9 to 10 months for a full recovery which seems about right.
I did it playing football on a hockey pitch in Garstang. It did not seem that bad at first but later in the night the pain was horrendous.
If the gaffer thinks he will be back this season, I very much doubt it will be an ACL which will be good news.
Like all of us, I’m gutted for the lad. He will be a superstar and will come back stronger from this. NOW, time for others, and there are a lot, to step up.
Good Luck Luca
You play football at the age of 78..? Wow that's very commendable
