Thought the midfield looked more balanced with Laurent in it today. Been very impressed with him so far. Gets forward into the box as well.

He's been quality every time we've seen him. It's his shirt to lose now surely?

Still not seen todays game, but to restate, he has looked good every game he plays, and certainly looks better than the various players he's replaced.
I don't doubt SP has problems selecting from a talented squad, but the team looks more dangerous, and more balanced with Laurent on the pitch.
It's still early days, and things might change, but it should be his shirt to lose imo.

Errrrrr isn't it because we have the most points 🤔 Only conceded 4 goals scored 16 unbeaten in 7 and 4 consecutive clean sheets ... but apart from that yes head scratching 🤣

Lauren has a very positive outlook on the pitch. Firstly, attempts to play the ball forward or progress forward with the ball. Tries to get the ball and create chances and when he does, often follows the move to completion, when possible.

Seems a steal at £500k BUT never been at a club for over 2 years and given he had a year left on his contract with Stoke and in the two seasons with them played 72 games, why did they let him go so cheaply? Think this is a strange one after looking at the 10 clubs he signed for either on loan or permanent before us and we only signed him for 2 years with an option.
Any ideas other knowledge of him?
After his 6 appearances seems a real steal

Because a player should be bought to fit the team and if he offers something you need that you don’t have. Look at Jones and Arfield. It’s not really about whether other clubs fans rave about the player and he may have played in systems or positions that haven’t always got the best out of him. As stated above though it does seem a steal so far.

given the games he played for Stoke were they that desperate to let him go for £500k with a year left on his contract. I think he also played in their games in August too.

What position was he playing yesterday? Replaced Hannibal further up or was there more of a reshuffle?

He was playing as your box to box player-he was a threat up front with some very intelligent and strong runs, supporting Fleming. With Brownhill also supporting Fleming our goal attempts were higher than of recent

He’s a decent footballer but not a great one. However, he is an excellent presence in the middle of the pitch and is clearly an infectious character. He seems very popular with his teammates and the fans have taken to him already.

Cullen was the single pivot with Brownhill and Laurent further forward.

When he signed he posted on Twitter the usual "looking forward to getting to work" post and alot of fans asked what sort of player he was. Alot of Stoke fans said that there was a player in there but he's very inconsistent and you only see glimpses of that player they know he can be.

I think it's fair to say we've seen that player more often than not so far. Not the most gifted but hard working and fits our squad perfectly.

Held off too much praise for this reason. In fairness, must be easier to put in energetic performances when playing one game in five without the fatigue, etc.

Looks a must start if he can put these performances in consistently though.

Certainly. Think he and Hannibal are players you switch for certain opposition line ups. That being said, i'm still trying to figure out what Hannibal is good/bad/best at. Clearly a very talented lad though.

I think he looks good on the turn and also at ball recovery. He seems really intelligent with those out of How he reads the game out of possession.

I was adamant that you couldn’t drop Cullen, Brownhill or Hannibal for Laurent but now I’m thinking on performances you have to find Laurent a place. Which means Hannibal dropped at this point.
