I know very little about the technology, but how many cameras are there?
12, with 'some' up to 100 fps.

The original tech first introduced was 50 fps cameras.

The offside rule, when eventually changed to going back to benefitting the team going forward, will remove the unnecessary angst. It's taking longer than it should. Viva Las Wenger!

You can score with your shoulder.
Not if you’re Sander Berge.

I was all for it when they suggested VAR in games. It has been implemented appallingly, way beyond what was originally floated. It has been an absolute car crash and needs scrapping. They had a chance to introduce a system that advanced the game, they blew it through ego and allowing pedants to control it rather than sportsmen… therefore it should not be revised, just scrapped and put the excitement back into football.
You still won't get people agreeing even with irrefutable evidence bias contrary opinions would continue. It's never been workable in any sort of system & it's delusional to think different. It does need scrapping & the notion that humans make mistakes needs to be accepted it's mindful to remember the reasons why VAR was introduced in the first place previously every week the officials were embroiled in dispute. The decisional controversy if anything has increased to unprecedented levels.

Before VAR even if the laws state the advantage should be given to he attacker it was far more safer should the linesman be in doubt and the decision close for them to raise the flag as before VAR the game would stop and if the decision was wrong we wouldnt know if their bad decision stopped a goal being scored

In contrast if the linesman didnt flag and a goal was scored when replays showed they were wrong then they would 100% be hammered for costing a team a goal. For this reason, pre VAR the linesman was always incentivised to err on the side of caution and flag for offside

With VAR in place it allows the linesman to be more free to give their true opinion knowing that VAR will give them a safety net for getting it wrong.

I was the original voice on here many years ago against VAR when you biased bunch who think the world is against Burnley expected VAR to result in us getting all the decisions you thought were made wrongly against us.

I argued that football isnt black and white and that all VAR would do would be to shift biased fans blame from the ref to the technology. I always said that if you can get the two sets of fans to agree that a decision was wrong or better still the two managers to agree that a decision was wrong then maybe there is an opportunity for VAR to make a difference.

The reality is that even our own set of fans cant agree on a decision after watching all the replays and stills then maybe football should just be left to the referees to do the best they can.

The trouble is before VAR you lot were all biasedly hammering the refs for perceived bad decisions not in our favour when I was arguing just let the refs do the best they can, accept that football isn't black and white and take the rough with the smooth because the alternative is what I predicted and now what you are all crying about

Its not the refereeing standards or VAR that is the real issue but more that every decision the referee makes is scrutinised to the nth degree and that every set of fans thinks every decision and ref is against them. Its all your biased, moaning, complaining behaviour that gave the space to the powers that be to bring in VAR and now the genie is out of the bottle its never going back so next time you decide to have a moan remember you were your own architects of this mess

I sort of agree DA, but here's the bias that I think we might have been missing (bias might = conspiracy theory in this case), is that that offside was VERY close, yet the Lino flagged immediately. Now, I thought they were instructed to let play go on if it was close then VAR could determine the actual outcome? In this case the Lino clearly did not do that and flagged immediately. Interesting. Wonder (and this is the conspiracy theory bit) if he would have done the same if the roles were reversed and United were about to score????

The Lino didn’t flag immediately. He let play continue until Foster scored, then raised his flag.

Exactly. Are people actually commenting on things they haven't seen now?
