Personally, I reckon you’re suffering from cognitive reduction because of an, as yet, undiagnosed brain injury, rather than just being half-cut all the time, Wrongo. This is probably excaserbated by too much drink, from time to time, but I don’t think your contributions to this board can entirely be put down to gin-sodden blimpery,
Re: Clapping Banned at University
On the contrary I openly admit to watching Corrie what with me being an uneducated Burnley chav who has to google cognitive dissonance. But then I don't see anything wrong with switching off in front of the TV for an hour after work. What's your broadcast poison? A bit of culture I'll warrant. Maybe Sky Arts, National Geographic or something late night BBC because we wouldn't want to feed the media moguls. I'm not well up with highbrow TV so this is your chance to really put one over on me and my preference or the lowest common denominator TV wise.Lord Beamish wrote:I bet you watch Coronation Street too, on the sly.

Re: Clapping Banned at University
So there you go Lord Beamish.
Next time you feel like picking up on somebody's spelling, calling them a "f***wit", questioning their intelligence, boasting you're "baiting" them. Try and behave more like the real peers after which you're named. Try and be more considered, wordly wise, mature and objective. Instead, take your YOUR own advice, and see it as "human frailty", that doesn't warrant condemnation.
In the future try to resist that impulse you clearly have, to use a spelling mistake as a means to self-aggrandize. Particularly when hands have been held up.
It only leads to gold medal winning "f***wittery" on your part
I'm off now, to earn a living. Thanks for the part you've played in the lesson in "Always quit while you're ahead"
Cheers.

Come Dine With Me, in the afternoon when they put five in a row on on More 4. I usually set up the ironing board and have a marathon of pressing clothes watching shite but engaging TV.

I bought my wife a dishwasher so she would have more time for the ironing because she was distracted by Come Dine With Me. What are you struggling to understand? I didn't follow the thread. If i posted in it then i'd forgot i'd posted in it, that's one of the ways you can tell i wasn't following the progression of the discussion.
How many posts were made in the 24 hours between my posts? When I'm saying "i haven't followed the thread" any idiot should realise what i mean is "i haven't read all the posts in this thread". You have to be a particularly dense motherfucker to think anything different. Are you particularly dense?
What do you think "following this thread" means exactly?
Try this one on. Lets say you are present for the start of a conversation among whatever friends you have, you add a couple of lines and then disappear for 20 minutes. You then return to find them still talking about the same topic. Now, if you said to them "I've not been following the discussion" would they be sensible in turning to you and calling you a liar because 20 minutes ago you said something? Or would they be being just as moronic as you have been in your last few posts if they decided that you were lying?
This is the part where you whine about name-calling. So, go on.

Some of the boards more challenged users like to pretend I call people or their ideas stupid because they disagree with me, but it's never because they disagree with me. They say that probably because it makes them feel better than if they were to seriously consider that they might be wrong.

As for name calling, I'm not really into that. I understand what a keyboard warrior is and the definition of it. You fit it perfectly. If you ever stepped away from your keyboard Sunshine, and agreed to meet me, one of the things you wouldn't be calling me is a tool.

Re: Clapping Banned at University
My not following this thread is not contingent on whether or not I've forgotten that i posted in this thread. Even if i had remembered that i had posted, if i hadn't opened the thread in 24 hours and there were 100 posts (or whatever) made during that time that means i've not been following the thread.Chip Harrison wrote:How am I supposed to know that you seem to have forgotten you had previously posted, and then make the connection that is one of the ways I can tell you weren't following the thread.

Actually, no. a keyboard warrior is someone who talks about how tough they are behind a keyboard. Watch how i ask one a question.
Why wouldn't I call you a tool?

Because most people are more polite in person than they are on a message board. You, of course, may be the exception who is as unpleasant and unsociable in real life as you are on here.Imploding Turtle wrote:Actually, no. a keyboard warrior is someone who talks about how tough they are behind a keyboard. If someone is being a tool towards me i'll call them a tool. I don't think that makes me unpleasant. Likewise if they're being consistently stupid i don't think it's beyond reason to call them stupid.

Re: Clapping Banned at University
As an example of a time when i'd call someone a tool, or just generally be impolite, imagine someone out of nowhere just walks up to me and accuses me of "sulking for over 24 hours" about something and also calls me a "liar" based on nothing more than their own imagination - that's a fairly good example of a time when i'm going to be impolite to someone. Would i be being unreasonable? I don't think so. What do you think?

No, I asked if you were lying. I didn't call you a liar. You then decided to put out a rambling statement about how you had forgotten you had posted previously...when your previous pots were actually the two posts preceding yours. None of that was my imagination.Imploding Turtle wrote:As an example of a time when i'd call someone a tool, or just generally be impolite, imagine someone out of nowhere just walks up to me and accuses me of "sulking for over 24 hours" about something and also calls me a "liar" based on nothing more than their own imagination - that's a fairly good example of a time when i'm going to be impolite to someone. That's not a question. That's a statement based on the previous sentence made to look like a question.
And are you seriously using the two posts i made literally one minute prior to the post where i said i hadn't been following the thread? I'm pretty sure you said i'd "sulked" for 24 hours between posts because i didn't get a reply. Actually, i'm certain that's what you accused me of.
Would you like to acknowledge your mistake and apologise? I'll accept it in the form of Haiku.
Edit to clarify: When i had said i had forgotten posts, i was assuming you were correct in that i had posted 24 hours earlier. I hadn't. The reason i'd forgot those posts is was because they don't exist. As far as i can see I posted twice on Oct 2 at 9:46 and then again a minute later saying that i hadn't been following the thread. Those were my first three posts on this thread. Based on those three posts you made your dumb accusations.
