No idea but with it being a Turkish club I would suggest a loan.
That would be stupid, surely? Wouldn’t benefit us at all.
My personal view is that there’s one or two players who the club gave a chance, the fans fully supported and didn’t exactly produce. I reckon they owe us a good year and promotion, but appreciate that’s maybe a bit much to ask in modern day football.

Yes, probably so. It’s the last bastion for ageing foreign strikers that fail in the Premier League having been panic bought in January by soon to be relegated sides.
That would be the final insult in what has proven to be a horrific transfer.
Pretty much nailed it there.
The Turkish sides aren’t going to buy him, if we sold him for what we bought him for he would be the 9th most expensive 30 year old striker ever bought. Best we can hope for is a loan covering his wages.

Weghorst would be in there top ten most expensive transfers in history if he went there. There not buying him, it’s got to be a loan deal unless we are willing to take a significant loss on him.

To be honest I’m purely spit balling. But can you see Turkish clubs wanting to spend north of 10m on Weghorst? That would make him there 2nd most expensive signing over 30. And there tenth most expensive ever (for the whole league).
He would also be the 10th most expensive striker over the age of 30.
Unless we take a loss and sell him on the cheap I can’t see fenerbache paying them sorts of fees

Yes but that’s what we are saying it looks very likely he is going to a Turkish club.
So that’s why I am saying it’s likely going to be a loan.

Hold on, you’re the only one saying he’s going to a Turkish club. And that seems to be based on a tweet from a Turkish journalist (with just 2000 Twitter followers) who claims that Weghorst’s ‘manager’ has spoken to Istanbul clubs and says that nothing is certain yet. How have you gone from that tweet to it looking highly likely that he is going to a Turkish club on loan?
I seem to remember you claiming that Brazilian lad was a done deal because he followed Burnley on Instagram.

Social media is generally the main way these things come out. Time will tell but it looks pretty accurate.

An approved turkish reporter stating that, and the fact it makes sense (one of the only places in Europe where players don’t need jabs).
Let’s see what happens he said it we will find out in 10 days

So basically some guy you’ve never heard of has said that he’s heard from Weghorst’s manager that Weghorst’s manager has spoken to some Turkish clubs and nothing is certain but something will become clear in 10 days. What an extraordinary leap you’ve made.
Of course, this may or may not happen, but another example of people believing everything they read.

That was a great saga! He’s played 27, 2 goals, 4 assists for Estoril so getting games in Portugal if not setting the world alight.
Weghorst followed Fenerbahce on Instagram so hopefully the same outcome because I like him.

Can Wout not follow football teams regardless of if he's signing for them or not?
I'm sure many footballers follow many other teams for various reasons.
Maybe some journalist is putting 2 and 2 together and getting 7
Either way I'd like to see him in the championship, i think he would bev15-20 goals, although you can see both the clubs reasoning and Wouts should he move on.
What will be, will be

If anybody fancies a laugh, follow this guy on Twitter.
https://twitter.com/BradJonesJourno
I was told he isn't a journalist and a while back he started making things up and people took him seriously, so he's carried on. The reason why it's funny is that you can tell he thinks he really is 'in the know'.

He’s been discussed a lot on several threads. People actually still fall for it.

Yes, Bradjonesjourno is the same as an approved journalist.
We will soon see either way. There’s more links this morning to Weghorst leaving anyway

Who are providing these extra links this morning linking him with a move to Turkey ?
It is Turkey you are still standing by and not clubs in Germany isn't it ?

I said we would be relegated last summer, you mocked me.
I said Dyche would sacked before the end of the season, you and Taio mocked me.
I said Brendan Johnson would be a good signing for us when he was in league 1, you mocked me.
The list goes on and on.
Perhaps instead of mocking try listening to other people.

You are going to have to do better than that and not just make random things up. I laughed at your suggestion that we should just sign Brennan Johnson due to you having seen him score a goal on sky sports news. You have this weird logic that we could have just gone and signed him and that he was even up for sale. He was in league 1 on loan from Forest who had no desire to sell him. Then you spend 12 months claiming we missed out on him football doesn't work like that. I know you struggle with reality in a lot of things but that isn't down to me. The rest is just nonsense.
It is a bit like stupid claim last week that the club was being ripped to shreds by the whole of the media and it wasn't even 7.30am when you were asked you fumbled around and claimed you couldn't provide any links, then we asked again you said it was Talksport, then when asked who you claimed you had no idea who you were either listening to or watching and couldn't recall what was said exactly. This is the kind of reason you get mocked.
If you through enough negative darts 24 hours a day it is inevitable that the odd thing you claim may come right at a later date but if the above list are your greatest predictions I feel sorry for you even more than I did.

Why does every thread on this message board end up with 2/3 people throwing insults at one another? Can’t people just have differing opinions and leave it at that?

So, any transfer rumours anyone?

When ClaretAL opened this thread I was going to suggest he moderate it like someone is doing with the Ukrainian war thread.
It was always going to end up in bickering, more so with relegation just happening.

Why don't we organise UTC boxing, let ClaretontheCoast and Newcastle headline the fight card and get rid of this sexual tension, poor Claretonthecoast has spent so much time of his life following Newcastle around this forum, trying to flirt with him.

They do need a keeper. It’s whether or not they can afford him.

indeed !! I've no idea what we even value him at tbh
Nixon suggested £40m not long back. I’d imagine that’s just us setting a high bar. I feel the club would accept something between £20m-£25m.

no clue if there is anything in this
Would be an excellent and very clever signing for the saints but I just hope we don't let him go for cheap.
Pope deserves his shot at the World Cup so needs to move this summer.
Wonder if we're looking at selling Wout whether saints would include Armstrong as part of a swap with Pope.

Pope won't be omitted from England's world cup squad if he stays at Turf Moor.

If Sam Johnstone gets a premier league move and Pope stayed at Burnley I could see Southgate not picking him and going with SJ instead but he's guaranteed not to start at the World Cup if he stays, he's a chance of starting if he starts well at a bigger club

I just don't see it as a good move for Pope..
Surely he wants to have a chance of trophies, europe and big wages..
Southampton can't offer any of that. Plus they have just sacked all the backroom staff and have to be one of the relegation candidates. Start of bad and they will pot the manager..
If Southampton is the only club in for him he may as well stay with us, and get a bumper move when he is available on a free..
He will still get picked for England and still won't be number 1..golden boy Pickford will never be dropped!

How do you drop a keeper who's been ******* incredible in an England shirt?

Incredible, slight exaggeration!
My point is it doesn't matter where Pope plays he will be number 2 or 3. End of!
