8 points clear + massive goal difference in our favour. Just need United to win tomorrow and we are golden (although I think after today we should be)

Safe as houses. Were before today probably. Some were pessimistically expecting the Swans to suddenly deliver title form.

We haven't even had a glimmer of a bad run when you factor in some home games against top sides being almost certain losses. We have done all we expected at home in 2017, and done what we needed away too, 6 points against bottom 6 teams.

It's only the way the calendar fell that made us nervous. Nothing about our football.

We were probably safe on 36. But we're out of it now.

We can look upwards now and see how far we can climb

We will be safe if Swansea lose today. No chance of us losing our last three and them winning all theirs.

Even if Swansea win, Palace have to play Hull at home which means dropped points.

Yesterday's result and 3 points was, not to understate it, massive.
Settled down to watch Match of the Day with an inner glow
alongside a single malt.
It will take an unbelievable set of results for us to go down now so we have
to believe we're safe now.

If anything the question is can we can go on and collect a few more points
and get up the table and finish in a position that gets us a few more million
towards our transfer budget and/or bonus payments.

There would have to be a 19 goal turnaround for goal difference for Hull to come above us and us lose our last two games and Hull win their last two games.

And also Swansea to win their last three games so it means we are as good as dammit staying up

Just wait until the evening garden then get a proper celebration on. Swansea need to beat Everton, if not we're mathematically safe.

I can confidently predict that we shall be playing Premiership football next season.
So confident I'm willing to put a £1000 on it.

Even we couldn't concede a record amount of goals in two games and Hull won't score 18 goals in 2 games, I don't think any team has in PL history.

Hull are 6 behind with a goal difference that's worse than ours by a margin of -19. Unless they can win their next two by a margin of 10 goals over both games and we lose our next two by a margin of 9 over both, we are safe.

In other words, we are safe :D

Regardless of goal difference no team has ever gone down with 40 points.

Highest was Blackpool with 39 but that was considered an exceptional season due to the top teams taking less points than usual, leaving more available to the lower teams

And, not forgetting that Watford and Palace are both as it stands below us.

We are as safe as a very sturdy house that has been build by a very safe builder on very solid foundations.

Burnley will be playing Premier League again next season.

well technically they don't need to score 18 goals. it's a combo of them gaining goals and us giving up goals. to put it in to perspective we could lose 4-0 to both Bournemouth and west ham while hull beats palace and Tottenham 4-0 apiece and that would still only make up 16 goals.

I doubt very much that Hull are going to score 20 goals even if Spurs play their youth team on the last game of the season.....So YES! We are safe!!! :D 8-) Well done Clarets!!!

I look forward to seeing which new players we can attract over summer now.... 8-)

Hull don't HAVE to score 20. They only have to score 10 in 2 games and us lose by 10 over 2 games. Absolutely feasible. (In Serei A at least!!)

and I think I will go ahead and grab a beer (not much of a cocktail person).
