Danny Ings (again)
Re: Danny Ings (again)
An 80% fit Danny Ings would be better in the No 10 role than trying to shoehorn in an out of position Hendrick.

Why not buy a No10 who is 100% fit than get a player who hasn't played for 2 yearsjrgbfc wrote:An 80% fit Danny Ings would be better in the No 10 role than trying to shoehorn in an out of position Hendrick.

Not saying we should sign him, was disagreeing with the folk saying that he isn't good enough for us.JPS71 wrote:Why not buy a No10 who is 100% fit than get a player who hasn't played for 2 years

Some of you could have made some decent money a couple of months ago sticking this bet on when I said this a couple of months agobfccrazy wrote:Heard from a good source that Ings is likely to go to Newcastle in Jan.

He's been lined up to go to Newcastle for a while ... Something major to change will be only thing stopping it.

Re: Danny Ings (again)
Hes got dodgy knees
Has barely played for almost 3 years
Has a bad attitude
Left on bad terms
Apart from that sounds like we should be in for him

Re: Danny Ings (again)
Interesting, this. Any insight as to what they were, Tony? Seems strange given the charity Ings set up at BFCitC like he wanted to give something back/leave a legacy and he always comes across as honest and positive in interviews. I know he ran his contract down but I can forgive him that in the modern game and seeing as Liverpool wanted him. He gave his all for us in every game I saw (though I wasn't at Sunderland).ClaretTony wrote:After the window had closed whereas the sulk came before it closed. I thought Ings was fine after that, right up until the end of the season. As said, from what I've been told, it's events since he left that have soured things.
Something I have noticed since his move is how content he seems being Liverpool's 4th choice striker. I know he's been injured a lot but he should be banging on Klopp's door begging him to let him go and play, if not there then somewhere else. If Dom Solanke (has he even scored a league goal in England?!) is ahead of you in the pecking order it's time to look somewhere else surely. And yet he will post on social media about his love for football after he scores in a reserve game at Tranmere - I find it very odd, like he's happy on a massive contract yet nowhere near the first team. The game at the Turf for example, he couldn't get any minutes despite all the attacking talent they had missing.
I hope he goes out on loan, scores some goals and has the career he's capable of because he's stalled since he left us and he really is an excellent talent.
Re: Danny Ings (again)
Just out of interest, what sort of welcome did he receive at the Turf last week?
Re: Danny Ings (again)
Pearcey. He received a good welcome from a good number of fans when the team sheet was read out.

Why? Did he fall out with Dyche?IAmAClaret wrote:Will not come back whilst Mr Dyche is here.... And I'd rather have Mr Dyche here than Mr Ings.
I think Ings is a bottlejob p-rick and I don't like the guy or how he left but footballing ability wise he'd be perfect for us.
Re: Danny Ings (again)
Tripps showed loyalty throughout his time here, Ings couldn't wait to get out and ran down his contract after the loyalty the club/fans had shown him while he was injured/developing. I certainly sensed Ings couldn't be arsed to play for us throughout his final 6 months here, I never once got that feeling with Trippier ever.chekhov wrote:Those annoyed that Ings didn't sign a new contract while at the same time lauding Trippier because he did might reflect on the respective transfer fees/compensation received. Just a thought.
One's a club legend and the other is a man who thought he was bigger than the club which completely overwrites his on field accomplishments with us, for me.

Re: Danny Ings (again)
The entire team was totally disinterested for the Sunderland game.ClaretTony wrote:It was the previous away game at Sunderland when he showed total disinterest. He'd just been told he wouldn't be going to Liverpool in that window. Dyche said after the game that he nearly didn't play him but he did and then took him off.
One of the worst performances under Dyche, for me.
Re: Danny Ings (again)
That argument works until you remember the Wells signing.JPS71 wrote:Why not buy a No10 who is 100% fit than get a player who hasn't played for 2 years
Now if you're asking us which one people would prefer out of those two, then I think its a very one sided poll.
But if Mr Dyche wont have him here, then so be it, but we must up the quality levels in the final 3rd some how.
We were a minimum 2 signings short when the window closed last time, which has ended up showing this last month or so, now I make those 2 signings absolutely necessary for us to keep progressing.
We have nothing at the moment that can challenge the starting 11, no plan b from the bench, and arguably no match winners in the first 11, never mind on the bench.
If I was a betting man I think we will land 2 players minimum, possibly 4, not all 4 necessarily first teamers that are match ready now mind, but certainly 2 or 3 that would be expecting starts before the season is over.

Re: Danny Ings (again)
More pace and threat out wide is the priority, not signing a number 10.
