The “meat” is always at its best when taken straight from the spit, as opposed to having it steamed soggy for a couple of hours in a Bain Marie…
Bin the lettuce, it has NO place on a kebab. Plenty of shredded cabbage with a few cucumbers and tomato slices, fresh onions and chili sauce liberally applied and pickled chillies on top.
If someone finds that anywhere, please let us know.
Spot on.
I only got in to kebabs because of Follies in Nelson. No one will have had a better kebab in the country as was had there.
Shame he went on the pizza route.
Istanbul at Colne is the nearest you're going to get to old school like.

Follies is a blast from the past. Proper kebabs then, always proper packed pitta, none of this naan business

The best kebabs don’t come in naan breads or pittas, they come in durum wraps. You tend to get good ones in the major German cities, I remember a fantastic one in Düsseldorf. When I stay at my brother’s in London we have found a gem called City Kebab in Stoke Newington. An old Turkish guy, a master at his art, a craftsman. We usually make it in there just before closing and enjoy one with a weird salty yoghurt drink whilst watching a Turkish soap opera (Middle Eastenders?) on his modest flat screen.

Fao Stubsy
I worked in Bordon a couple of yrs ago and there was an excellent kebab van frequented by squaddies who parked their halftracks nearby
Sold belly buster burgers cash up front for £25
The kebab van after Stickys or the snooker club was a regular for many

Had a Mixed kebab from Sumbuls Saturday night. Decent, if a little smaller than previous but no bad thing.

They used to…. They were most excellent. Then they stopped making their own naan breads, and replaced em with the nasty supermarket version. Not had one since.

Burnley Kebabz seemed a decent replacement but have only had it once.

I mourn the loss of Tulsi. I have a couple of other good options, but Tulsi was

every time.

Tara in Rosegrove is our main go-to - however, they're cash only

which means we can't always use them for delivery.
We like Aroma, too... it used to be quite expensive, but I think that most other takeaways have caught up now.

If I'm at Tara, I'm having chicken tikka tangile bhaji - a dry, medium spiced curry, with onions, peppers and mushrooms. Delicious. Tulsi used to do something similar.

Ending the name in Z is an automatic, additional 2* deduction from me.

I don't usually order online but did order one from a local takeaway. I selected salad and chilli sauce.
The whole thing was covered with a curry type sauce making everything soggy.
A bit strange but some may comment that I deserved what I got.
