Not worth bying for making money short term, too small and local!...Worth bying into, with a proper business management at place already and satisfied with break even numbers, as long as the team wins more than they lose..? Hell Yes!!!

Ontario claret is a BFC fan regardless of whether he has spent years and years putting up with what you have living solely in Burnley.

I've friends in Japan, Thailand, Cambodia etc etc etc that follow BFC with pride - Few have ever had the chance to travel to the UK.
It doesn't effect the messages I get - These connections go back years.
These connections are constant even when the team are poop.
There is a massive pride that over recent years especially BFC have done really well.
To me the fact that they can proudly boast to follow Burnley (the against all odds BURNLEY) and see / read about BFC with pride for themselves, makes me proud.

The Trust (read this quickly, it might not be here long) were buying up shares a few years back in an attempt to have some influence. I said at the time that it was pretty pointless given the amount of shares they were reasonably going to get was a few percent. Not sure whether they're still doing this or not (or even whether it's still going).

That's the problem, the fact that the Board have a 94% shareholding plus the fact that they discontinued the AGM some four years ago, it's not possible now for the remainder to have a voice. Even the informal shareholder's meeting in 2013 only lasted for one year.

Given they only have 94%, if all the other shareholders so desire they could force a shareholders' meeting. I imagine that would be difficult in reality though.

I'm not trying to force anything. Everybody should be happy with the general path the club is taking. Of course, that could all change at any point of time. I'm just thinking in terms of getting more investment into the club. But with new money, existing shareholders are endangered. However, I do think that there should be more ways for real fans to express their interest by "putting their money where their mouth is". Other clubs do it, why can't we?
