Yes ive heard the comment - I wouldn't be commenting otherwise would I?

If someone at their place of work threatened to slap your wife, or your mum ' in a light hearted manner' would you genuinely be ok with it?
I know I wouldn't.

It's nothing to do with me being a woman, its that he thought it was ok to say this. Its not acceptable to try to intimidate anyone, and that's what he did. Not once but twice.

Hands up who thought he was going to slap her??

No, thought there'd be no takers. I just can't believe so many people are getting worked up on behalf of this reporter! It was clearly a joke, it was not said in a threatening manner and wasn't perceived so by the person involved.
If you can't understand this point of view, I'd suggest you nip to Tesco, stock up on provisions, don your shiny helmet and hide in the bunker at the bottom of the garden as the world is scary place these days.

Please get this into perspective, Moyes has taken up more column inches these last few days than the terrorist atrocity in St Petersburg, but hey ho, them Russians want a war so let's just leave them to it and be offended by everything and anything trivial like this

I dont think anyone has said that they thought he was actually going to slap her, now did they?

I conversely, don't understand why you are getting so worked on Moyes behalf. My opinion is that he felt he could intimidate her - can you only intimidate physically? Again, if this was a bloke at your mum's works who said that to her, would you laugh? Whats funny about a threat to belt someone (He also told her to watch it next time she was in - is that funny?) who is not able to retaliate in any way and possibly their only recourse was to laugh it off? It's bullying to me - plain and simple.

Right, I'm off to Tesco - I read something about Russians and a war.

I hear he's auditioning for New Faces next week. Reckon he's got a real shot at getting onto the live shows with Marti Caine.
You mean Marti Caine that died of cancer ? I'm faux outraged at your insensitivity! See how easy it is!

Some thoughts....

It's a good job some people didn't work in the factories & mills of the 1970's and 80's, they'd never work again. I was a 17 year old lad working in a printworks where most of the employees were women,in 1981 and if modern rules applied, I'd still be living off the tribunal monies !!

The Managers should get together and agree that for the next four games, they will only answer TV questions with one of six answers...

" We're glad to get the result we got today ", " We deserved more from the game ", " That was the referees opinion & I respect he has a job to do ", "It's a tactical decision, the details of which I'm not prepared to share with the media ", " You may say that, but I couldn't possibly comment " and " No comment "....

It'd be a dull world...

It's a pity that she didn't think quick enough to tell him that he'd get a slap back if he did.

Sunderland lost 2 - 0 on Tuesday!

Leicester fans were chanting

'...yer getting slapped in the morning
yer getting slapped in the morning
slapped in the morning
yer getting slapped in the morning...'

Why don't managers refuse to do media? Surely they're obliged too be interviewed? Unless they're all like Dyche who loves the sound of his own voice and loves to witter the same repetitive lines.

As part of the tv deal they've all got to be interviewed.

Jose did one of his post match ones recently when all the Journos were still by the pitch.
He walked in, sat down, waited a few mins and then walked out without having to say much

I genuinely don't care about spelling/punctuation when posting on the internet. This isn't an English test and I'm not writing an essay, I'm satisfied that my post is readable with/without spelling mistakes.

agreed. they are ordered to be there then when they tell the truth they get fined.
No wonder they fob most interviews off with cliches.

Aye it's no big deal - just an observation that you regularly get confused between the two (or is too or to) and I'm sure would be no different if you were writing an essay.

It's readable, but your second sentence seems to contradict your first, is there a "not" missing, somewhere?
