It is an upgrade, without a doubt. There is a noticeable improvement in picture quality for a start - and thats just in normal high definition. They release a new version but instead of testing it, they send it out to buyers and let them report the problems back to them. Then - they fix them and release an updated version.

Like I said earlier it is fantastic and definitely an upgrade. The only feature I miss from sky + is reminder function, but there are so many positives it is nothing

I've had Sky for 13-years and can't remember the last time I paid full price. I give notice to cancel when my contract period is up and they offer me a deal to stay.
I've got the full package, including broadband, with 50% discount and have had for several years.
