Had a quick look on an Everton forum

Seems to be more about David Unsworth, Ancellotti or Thomas Tuchel (never heard of him)

OK, Suggest we all read the D.Telegraph's Saturday feature on Sean Dyche again. Maybe it is time for Sean to move on - or maybe it is a situation that you look at and say "no, I can't do anything with that."

The problem with Dyche going anywhere mid season is that I don’t think he’s a ‘hit the ground running’ type of manager. Dyche’s success at Burnley is built on his famed philosophy and framework along with fitness. That doesn’t happen over night (it didn’t with us) and I’m not sure a gradual build is what Everton need at the moment.

Sean has said it will not be forever when he goes we will hopefully get another manager who will keep us near or the same level but please don't let it be David Moyes.

Thomas Tuchel is the guy who succeeded Klopp at Dortmund..?

I had a pleasant chat with an Everton fan on the way out of Goodison the other week, I said to him I could see Dyche ending up at Everton one day, I didn't mean in three weeks though !!

This job is perfect for someone of Sean's credentials, but equally, he's not achieved anything more than Ronald Koeman had in terms of managing in the Premier League. People are thinking Dyche because Everton have history of appointing Moyes - a young British manager who had a lot of potential - and it worked out well for them.

As others have pointed out, Everton are a different beast now; I'd still be more surprised if Everton came in for him than I would be if they didn't.

If he doesn’t come seriously close to being offered either the Leicester or Everton job (or, in theory, West Ham if that was to become vacant) then you would have to question if he would ever get another PL job.
How close has he come so far ? Not very close I’d suggest is the answer, with the possible exception of Sunderland a couple of years back ??

He would be mine too, but I don't think he'd be persuaded to come to Burnley when he's managing his boyhood team to a possible promotion to the Prem. He's done a great job and my Sheff Utd supporting friends are enraptured with the football and astute tactical acumen he has.

Keep seeing this, and whilst he’s a viable name for any “wishlist”,there’s no chance he’d leave Sheffield Utd for Burnley.

I said the same thing a few days ago, before Saxo had a random bipolar fit on me. And I have to disagree with the comments that he'd never leave Sheff U to come to Burnley. I think he'd be tempted. However, he comes with no Premier League experience, which could put us off approaching him.

It would certainly be very interesting to see who we'd be linked with should Dyche leave.

I trust the club as Laws aside they haven't got many managerial decisions wrong in recent times. In my opinion Stan, Cotterill,Coyle,Howe and Dyche were all good appointments in their own right.

What is impressive about Dyche is that he learns all the time. He doesn't consider himself the finished article but is surely a much better manager now then he was when he came here.

He lacks European experience and also managing foreign players. I can't see how he can get the former from any club below Everton (last year's league table) but could learn about foreign players from other Premier League teams.

There's also the question of how patient Everton will be. Judging by this summers investment they will want quick results. If they will give the new man time then this could be a great opportunity for our Sean and his team of coaches.

Success at Everton could lead to the really big clubs.

I fear the worst!

Wasn't it Bilic who signed the likes of Arnautovic?

He's also a cheating, whinging, classless man. So no, in the unlikely event of Dyche leaving in the next week or two, then I wouldn't go near.

I could see Dyche being tempted by Everton but not sure they will go for him or if it would be the best appointment for them. As said above not a hit the ground running type of manager, no experience in Europe, no experience managing big budgets and no experience managing foreign prima donnas although good with troublesome characters.

Don't agree with this notion that Dyche can't hit the ground running. Sample size of 1 and he's a different manager to what he was five years ago.

I too would be surprised if Everton came in for SD. Given their ambitions, SD,s scouting network isn't sufficient for the level they are looking to operate at. He's doing a great job with us on limited resources, but as a result, hasn't yet been able to demonstrate the depth of tactical knowledge Everton should be after.

If he goes, the Board will not be taking an opinion poll from the fans regarding his replacement. I trust SD to do the right thing and if that means moving on to Everton it is the right move for him. I trust the Board to get his replacement right as well.

So, just in case you are looking MG, JB & Co let's have Neil Warnock or Sam Allardyce. I don't particularly like either of them too much but it will spice this board up a treat!

Edit
Regarding Bookies Odds, wasn't he 'nailed on' for Crystal Palace, Southampton and anyone else in the news this year? Those in the know have already explained how these 'Next Manager' odds really have no bearing whatsoever.

I know the guy in charge has plenty of money but the koeman experiment just cost him 15 million quid +. We would be due compensation for Dyche, Moyes is free and knows the club. I'd be amazed if they decide to go British that they don't go for Moyes, way more experience than Dyche

That oddschecker table is concerning. SD clear favourite to be next permanent manager with all the bookies. Quite a bit of variation in the next bunch of "runners" Unsworth, Allardyce, Ancelotti & Moyes. BFS varies 4/1 to 14/1, Moyes 16/1 to 3/1.
I'm hoping these numbers change over the next 48 hours as positions become clearer and (fingers crossed) a different favourite emerges.

everton would be the next logical step for dyche for a number of reasons.

he's not going to get a top 4 club and they are the next best thing. huge club, lots of money, new ground on the way (unfortunately), cracking youth system, in europe (although that's a hindrance right now) and they generally give their managers time to do the job; albeit that's perhaps getting less the case with the new owner in.

i think he'd be a great fit for them - not sure they will think that though.

if he does get the opportunity it will be a big decision for him. he's virtually guaranteed a job for life here, whereas moving means joining the managerial merry go round; the higher you go, the more pressure there is to succeed quickly and there's less control.

I think Everton would be more attractive to him. And you also should take into account what Dyche has stated regarding being linked to Leicester. That to me, makes it less likely for him to go there. Everton for several reasons is the more likely.

But... the odds aren't that great at the moment. I want better than 2/1. 5/1 would be worth a dabble.

Is that like the board of directors at Chelsea make the decisions, and the chairman has the final say?

Bruce Buck has more of a say than Roman Abramovich?

Abramovich isn't on the board either.
