Awful day. Soaking wet before we went in. Open terrace. Awful. One of the few times I left a game at half time.
Burnley heavy away defeats attended.

Not good that one. Particularly the Dean Marney pass to an Albion striker. I'm not sure, though, that would make my top 10. Definitely not top 5. I suppose that's partly as I don't detest west brom. Partly because I like their ground and had a great chicken burger outside. Partly because when you watch a lot of non-league, you get higher scores a bit more regularly.LawsCanalJump wrote: ↑Sun Jun 07, 2020 6:32 pm4-0 defeat to west brom few years back
It was just shocking
Worst, I think, was one somewhere near Kettering (but more shyte than that) with a pitch on a massive slope that hadn't been rolled since the iron age.
I'd gone up on the team coach and somehow got appointed judge of a word game some of the players were playing on the way up. Three centre backs were out with an illness. There was one we'd borrowed from a uni. 1 down, a simple pass from him to the other central defender hit a mole hill or something and bounced about 2 foot in the air, over our guys leg to a striker who was doing nothing really about 10 feet away. 2-0 and It just got worse.
Tommy Hutchison played or coached. I'm not sure anyone really "played". Our class 10 was a guy called Colin loss. When we got back to Merthyr, he did a Mike Ashley projectile vomit into some bushes. Just about summed it up.

Yes that game for me also.... preceded by a 7..0 at Maine rd 68? And a 5...0 under Keegan at half time. Fulham playing at qpr 5...0 at half time West Brom 8..1 in 67. And the last shocker at Spurs. Thankfully they let us out!Woodleyclaret wrote: ↑Sun Jun 07, 2020 10:32 amGutless performance v Arsenal in Wengers last game
An awful effort where we never interested.
A blazing hot day capped off by Gooners fans with more faces than Big Ben chanting Wengers name less than a fortnight after demanding his sacking.

I would have moved and gone and sat back in front of Rocky.BurningBeard wrote: ↑Sun Jun 07, 2020 10:36 am6-1 at Ipswich in 2003 when Branchy was playing CH. Sat in front of Rocky first half, decided to move at half time to give my ears a rest and ended up the seat behind Alastair Campbell.
Edit, think from memory it was actually Branch and Roche at CH that day.![]()

The 5-2 away at Blackpool in the 4th Division promotion season ( Mark Kendall in goal ) and the 6-1 in the Autoglass at Preston were not good ...
