Hemmings is 85yrs old and a net worth of £1 billion.

It would appear he's content just keeping the club afloat, however they do need to start planning for a future without him
His son Craig is the Chairman at PNE so they may wish to keep it going, the family also own Cork City in Eire

It was very annoying in the late 90s when they had more financial muscle than us and kept pipping us to players we were both after.

Been there a while now has Ridsdale.

Remember going to Chorley to watch the reserves against Preston when Ings was playing and Ridsdale strutted through the main stand like he was some big deal

I think he’d just joined Preston and had immediately replaced Phil Brown with Graham Westley.

life long fan is Craig courtesy of his dad's involvement for approaching 50 years - he is only in his 3rd year on the board at the club though.

Westley commuted on a daily basis from London when he was Preston manager

Westley was one of the most egotistical people I have ever heard, horrible man.

Blackpool - now 9 undefeated beat Peterborough (2nd) to move into the top six for the first time this season

Given their play-off record you wouldn't bet against them - when was the last time they were in the Championship with PNE?

Don't be surprised to see them swap places. Preston on an awful run, manager gone, best players sold in January, and after international break they have a horrible run for the next 4 or 5 games which they could lose them all.

PNE to go down? That would be funny. For some reason, I much prefer Blackpool.

Fascinating article from The Athletic today on the background to the recent goings on - not a happy camp

That’s a really good read.

Interesting that Hemmings moved north when his dad took a job at Chorley Ordnance Factory which is right next door to the old Bolton training ground that is now Preston’s.

The Hemmings family also operate Trust Inns, which owns around 500 tenanted pubs across the UK. They're not short of a bob or two.

Read The Athletic article. Astounding that a middle of the road Championship club are paying their manager £20k a week.

He’s pulled in some good prize money with his racehorses too, though obviously expensive to keep them in the first place.

Trevor Hemings will definitely have lost money on racehorses. He recently cut down the number he had in training dramatically, citing costs and unfairness on staff he was having to let go in other business areas, if he was to keep all the horses.

This article should be a shining light in how well run Burnley FC is, Preston losing £10’s of millions a season trying to get to the prem, with a pretty dire future outlook.
