No idea if they still do this as I’m usually in the bar beforehand and at HT but would definitely take them on if we could.

My eldest son got to hold a banner on the pitch before a match once and absolutely loved it - anti-racism one or something. Still talks about it to this day. We should go fully overboard with things like this before and at HT to create as many memories for kids as possible.
We took our kids team on for this a couple of times and they loved it. The got a pre-match session in the "gym" beforehand, got to wave the big banner thing then half time game on the pitch.

Unfortunately that stopped, along with the "autograph zone" when they implemented the COVID restrictions with the red/green zones

Where else can they go locally with an atmosphere like the Turf?
Nowhere, certainly not to watch Premiership football with all the star players, etc.

We may only have another 4-5 months to enjoy that and attract as many new fans as possible, which I’m not really sure we’ve maximised as well as we could in recent years.

We talk about being a town team and the attendance vs population being good, but to your point, but if you looked at the population within a 25 mile radius (exc Blackburn, obviously) who might be interested in watching PL football, there’s loads to go at. I’m just not sure we market to anywhere (even in Burnley) and just expect fans to turn up. I’m pretty sure if folk further afield knew you could get an U12’s ST at a Premiership club for £50 they’d consider it, even in a more neutral capacity.

It’s his club so his money, not the clubs money
It’s not though is it. In fact it’s that attitude and putting debt on to the club that will probably see a fire sale in 6 months time.

It is boring and bordering on childish. If this gesture came from Barry Kilby or some of the previous board who were popular it would be a fantastic thing for him to do.

Even the freezing of season tickets which you would expect everyone to be happy about was met with ahh but he was going to raise them, he has been mocked for flying out to try and complete a signing and that he was wrong to be doing so.

The local club for local people has never been stronger.
Absolutely this. I have been paying attention to who says what recently with regards to our chairman. It’s the same people trying to highlight a negative in an otherwise positive scenario. Some people absolutely refuse to see the good intentions in anything because for some reason (maybe it stems from the type of takeover he used to take control, maybe it’s something else) they are so blinkered.
It’s all just a little bit sad really.

It isnt the clubs money though is it? They never had the money. The tickets would have remained in the ticket office and the seats would’ve been empty. Giving them away to local schoolchildren has cost the club what exactly? Because they did this we are going to sell cornet in the summer?

Like I said earlier, any opportunity, no matter how small, is seized upon to attempt to discredit Pace.

Great initiative but I wonder just how many were taken and just how many of those actually turned up (especially considering the weather)? Also, did we ever find out if an adult ticket had to purchased with a free ticket and, if so, what price were the adult tickets?
