They’ve made very sensible signings, fair play to them. Trippier on the True Geordie podcast was very complimentary about Howe’s coaching methods and how he’s changed the feeling around the place in the short time he’s been there.Woodleyclaret wrote: ↑Sun Mar 13, 2022 3:15 pmEddies done well at Newcastle because he's had a serious wedge to spend
We never strengthened mf despite the glaring need for players and yet there were players out there that fitted our needs.Neill at Sunderland and Swift at Reading to name two.
Sean will stay regardless and he will take us up if we go down

Re: Dyche going......
I’m no longer convinced Dyche is the right manager for us. It all feels extremely stale and, whilst he’s not always been helped by the board, he’s not completely blame free either. I wouldn’t put it past him to he pushing for the contract renewals of players we should be looking to ditch this summer if we’re going to ever rejuvenate this squad.
All of that said, there’s little sense in sacking him now. The kind of managers who’d be willing to take on a side who haven’t been out of the bottom three for 6 months with only 12 games left are unlikely to be the kind of managers who’d be capable of getting a tune out of this squad.
The time to move on is likely to be this summer.

Re: Dyche going......
Its easy to knock Eddie Howe and state its because of his transfer budget he has been successful at Newcastle. However Eddie is a real student of the game, always wanting to learn new techniques, methods, and ways of motivating players. He can easily identify "whats wrong" when a team is struggling and can put remedies in place. He leaves SD miles behind in management abilities. And whilst he made half a dozen dodgy signings for us he had an eye for talent-Mee, Trippier, Ings, Austin, Stanislas, Vokes and a few more

Re: Dyche going......
Again, at the end of the season, regardless of where we finish is the time to talk about this
Its also the time not to get on players backs as well, but I'll stick to just trying to persuade people that we don't magically become a better team if we change our manager

Agreed Lancaster.
"He leaves SD miles behind in management abilities".
Yes that's why Bournemouth got relegated.

No, where have you got that from, they clearly have different styles, so would suit different clubs.
If EH is miles ahead in management abilities why did Bournemouth get relegated under his tutelage and we have spent six seasons in the Prem ?

I agree with Lancaster and others. We are probably going to get relegated because of off the field events rather than Sean Dyche.

We are going to get relegated because it's our turn. (There are about 6 clubs who don't have to take a turn, but out of the rest, it's always somebody's turn)

Though there are things to do to avoid your turn.

Can't imagine anyone has a problem with it.

Some on here have said those other clubs around us, namely Leeds, Everton, Palace, Brighton, Southampton, Brentford etc. are too good to go down.
However, If just one of the promoted clubs stays up next season (Fulham for example) then one club that is 'too good to go down' will be replacing them, simply because there will be nowhere else to finish, except in the relegation places.
And like us, if one of those teams that is 'too good to go down' finishes in the bottom three they will deserve to be there.
Re: Dyche going......
Being relegated is being used as a stick to bash Howe with, even though Dyche has taken us down too.

Re: Dyche going......
Selective blindness. Howe relegation = Bad
Dyche relegation = we can’t compete, not his fault, referee, weather, fixture list etc. etc. etc.
Mustn’t criticise the great messiah, no one else could have kept us up or could bring us back up you know.

We are going to get relegated because we don't score enough goals.
The lowest scoring team of those that survived last season and the second lowest scorers this season, only bottom club Norwich have scored fewer goals.

Who do you think might employ Dyche if he leaves? It probably would be a Championship club.

Two promotions under his belt, plus several years in the PL.
Limited European experience.
Has shown he can work within a budget etc.
He'd find a job easy enough, either in the PL, championship or further afield.

He won’t get a job in the PL. He wouldn’t last 5 minutes either if he did. Not many fans would put up this type of football and the lack of variation in tactics. He’d have been out on his ear about 15 games ago at every other club in the PL.

Re: Dyche going......
Thought Dyche should have gone 2 years ago, not because he was a bad manager but because he needed a new challenge and we needed fresh thinking. He really needed a new Championship side to build in a different image, and we needed a fresh approach to recruitment and playing style.
Fancy both might happen this summer, but who will be most successful at adapting will be an interesting one to watch.

Re: Dyche going......
The one thing this team needs is a short term lift, something like a new manager bounce. Dyche definitely isn't a bad manager and I think he deserves until the end of the season anyway, I just like you, think the whole thing is stale, the football is stale, we've a couple of players like Mcneil who need a rocket up their ass.agreenwood wrote: ↑Sun Mar 13, 2022 4:02 pmI’m no longer convinced Dyche is the right manager for us. This is the kinda thing Allardyce specializes in but I wont say Dyche out.

Re: Dyche going......
Dyche has to be the one to get them firing. He can do it but he needs to be far more inventive.
Re: Dyche going......
If we're keeping it British, I like Cooper at Forest, Leam Richardson is doing an incredible job at Wigan, Rooney would be interesting. That's not to say they're better managers than Dyche, just a fresh vision, new outlook, new voice would imo do this squad good.

I don’t even think Allardyce would take it on. He’s never stepped in post-transfer window before. He likes to make a signing or two.KRBFC wrote: ↑Sun Mar 13, 2022 10:42 pmThe one thing this team needs is a short term lift, something like a new manager bounce.
