We have been asking for a proven goalscorer, how good would it be to take Diaz off them

With 5 minutes left. If he manages to affect the game in that time (+ extra)- well done to him.

Ended 1-0 to Forest, West Ham had plenty of opportunities, only themselves to blame.

Celtic currently winning 3-0 away at Kilmarnock with 62 minutes gone. Plus many games around Europe as Serie A and La Liga get under way.

Diaz first goal assisted by Gallagher. Gallagher second goal assisted by Diaz, I hope they're not becoming the Kane/Son duo of the Championship.

Bastards looking like the real deal this season, unfortunately.
They certainly can find the back of the net.

Oh Nooo.
They've got Reading (away) next game too- the team that lost 4-0 yesterday to mighty Rotherham.

Rovers yet to concede a goal. Looks like we will be 5 points behind after only 3 games. Sickening
Re: Today's football 14/08
Their new manager has them playing like a Dyche dude. Solid not much possession but with a cutting edge.

Re: Today's football 14/08
They have precisely what we lack, a deadly partnership up front with a cutting edge, that makes a huge difference at this level.claretburns wrote: ↑Sun Aug 14, 2022 4:08 pmDiaz first goal assisted by Gallagher. Re: Today's football 14/08
Diaz had never scored more than 6 goals in a season before last.
Gallagher was rated a donkey by most Rovers fans.
Just shows what can happen with some belief / confidence / new manager.

Re: Today's football 14/08
If only won't happen though alas, but we need to find goals from somewhere, otherwise we face the prospect of results similar to Watford, where we dominate the play, yet come away with nothing.
Still plenty of time in the window to resolve this issue, but resolve it we must one way or another.
Find a combo in the mould of Ings/Vokes, and we'll soon reap the benefits.

I know this comment is tongue in cheek and even though I wouldn’t particularly want the pair of them, I don’t think we could afford them anyway.

I’ll worry about Rovers results after Christmas. They quite often start seasons like this but fade.

Re: Today's football 14/08
Hopefully (from my point of view) it's all change. Mowbray was a persistent Christmas Cornerer. Something I remember you lot being famous for.elwaclaret wrote: ↑Sun Aug 14, 2022 4:59 pmI’ll worry about Rovers results after Christmas. They quite often start seasons like this but fade.
In reality, we haven't played superbly so far, but I think Tomasson is much more switched on than Mowbray in terms of strategy and tactics.
Anyway, early days, yet, and a long way to go. Slight suspicion we are having a bit of a new manager honeymoon period, and this will turn out to be a transitional season.

I wonder when we were last below our 3 Lancashire rivals Blackburn, Preston and Blackpool? Must be a fair few years and there's a chance it could happen again soon if we struggle in the next few games

Then I'd ask why you even bother following the game if that's your attitude. A big part of club football is about local rivalries. Half of my family are Burnley supporters, and half Rovers supporters. It's a great rivalry, and something we should embrace at every opportunity. Isn't that what football should be about to supporters like us?CoolClaret wrote: ↑Sun Aug 14, 2022 5:15 pmSome folks obsession with Blackburn is really weird

Excellent post. Rivalries are a big part of football up and down the country and across the world. It’s great that most fans embrace it.RumRogers wrote: ↑Sun Aug 14, 2022 5:26 pmThen I'd ask why you even bother following the game if that's your attitude. You won't give a toss because you don't live in East Lancashire. Where I live the town is split so the rivalry intense

Will I have a bit of banter with Blackburn supporting mates in the lead up to a rivalry game? Yeah
Do I refer to them as b******s and look for their results obsessively? No, really sad to do so as well

not taking it seriously as can be seen by my previous post above. Don't mistake having an interest in football as me being bothered by a club other than ours though. We have enough to think about with our lot !!
