To be fair to West Ham they currently have second highest average gate in the league. Only Man Utd better!

Quite often football supporters base a club’s size on where it was when they first started watching football. So I think of such as Southampton as being a small club.

What is the criteria for being a big club? I always consider us to be a small club that has over achieved, twice during the periods when we won the league and right now with our achievements of the last decade.
I just think of us as a club, the criteria can be set to whatever we want it to be I guess, it just amuses me when people call us small and not the likes of Saints etc, I'm glad we are what we are and that's the main thing :D

I was seriously p******d off. My dad, who worked for the Burnley Express wouldn't let me go to Maine Road because he said they'd heard that loads of Wolves fans were going and that there would be trouble if we won .I remember going up to the top of Manchester Road ( we used to call it the Summit in those days ) with a gang of my mates and cheering on the retuning coach loads of fans .It was a great week for me...we were Champions and on the following Friday the Pop charts saw the Everly Brothers at No.1 with Cathy's Clown.Life was so simple then...great football and rock n' roll were all that mattered to me...oh and girls came into it .I was 15.

I recall as an 8 year old staying up to wait for the team coach coming past the Summit after the City game.
