Woking don't do fans.
I don't, but have a mate who goes with his kids, their best last season reached the playoffs.

There is a very unhealthy "rivalry" going back to Conference days (Clive Walker and all that) between Woking and Stevenage fans. Obviously not in the same league as Burnley and "that lot" but not good all the same.

Woking is just the place where everyone parks for the station into London!

Disappointing that we are on to page two and nobody has called Sky ‘Woke’ yet.
Perhaps the mentions of Woking have confused people.

I've not stumbled across Matterface much tbh but I saw a clip of him on youtube doing the West Ham Europa final for Talksport radio and he was superb (I was really surprised given all the negative comments I read about him!)
He’s the only commentator that makes me swear at the telly and I’m generally pretty laid back. His comment when Kane missed the pen against France was dreadful. Maybe Swizzle’s comment is right but I can’t stick him.

Hopefully the new guy won’t be contractually obliged to manically scream “AND IT’S LIVE!” whilst sounding on the verge of orgasm.

Alistair Bruce-Ball for me is the best radio commentator. The Geordie fellow (on 5 live) who’s name escapes me is also very good.
John Murray? He's really good.

Drury to take over on Sky. Excellent choice. The best TV football commentator there is.

Good little video here for anyone who hasn't seen it of some of Martin Tyler's more memorable moments:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OUfwuZPrrzU

Features a very good goal from our very own VK making it worth a watch in itself!

Very grateful that there's always an alternative stream available, with different commentators, whenever Drury is on. I cannot bear to listen to his voice or his schtick.

Drury is great - at least he’ll sound vaguely interested in the game unlike MT. Daniel Mann deserves some PL games now, too.

Goldsworth Park tells you different story and the new skyscrapers we've had built. Mind you the council has gone bust.

Plus its got me

I dont like Peter Dury.

I hate the way he shouts the 'outcome of an outcome.'

Say Man Utd need to win to qualify for the Champions League, and they win a last-minute penalty. If Utd scores, he'll shout 'Champions League!' as soon as the ball hits the net... you don't notice he does this... until you notice it - and it's irritating.

The guy on Sky sports who does the championship also is a bit annoying with his gargling voice and "planting their flag in the ground" in every big game.

I also think Drury is way overrated with his pre-determined phrases.

None of them are perfect I guess

On the subject of commentators, who is the BBC one who sticks extra letters on the end of virtually every player? It annoys the hell out of me!

Is he still coaching? Not bad at his age.
Saw this just now,

Although Tyler has enjoyed a glittering career as a commentator, he is also a respected football coach. Tyler even coached Woking between 2018 and 2022, working under manager Alan Dowson and winning promotion to the National League in May 2019.

“Roma have risen from their ruins! Manolas, the Greek God in Rome! The unthinkable unfolds before our eyes! This wasn't meant to happen. This couldn't happen. This IS happening. It’s a Greek from Mt. Olympus who has come to the seven hills of Rome & pulled off a miracle!”
