Re: Issues on Up the Clarets
Mine was struggling earlier in the week then improved, now it is very slow to log on and post.....doesn't bode well for the boys & girls who can't make the match today and want to post !

Glad we're at home today.
Keep the traffic down a bit.

Bit like traffic on the M6 at times ... slows to a stop, then everything speeds up for a few miles, then stops again.
Rinse and repeat
Rinse and repeat

Getting 504 Gateway Time-outs but suddenly seems ok, fingers and toes crossed that it improves for later.

You're right, the AI bots "scrape" the website to use it to learn realistic language or take information. Claude Bot was launching from hundreds of different IP addresses and ignoring the file that tells it not to. I've updated the site now so that it and a host of other bots are no longer allowed to view pages and the cpu use is back down to normal.Chester Perry wrote: ↑Sun Apr 28, 2024 2:27 pmI don't think I have ever seen Claude AI or Claude [Bot] on this board - though I do not always look
I have commented before that since the launch of various AI apps that viewing activity on certain threads has gone through the roof - if anything it seems to generate more views in a vicious spiral
This is a major discussion point in AI at the moment. You need data to train but what is the value of an AI built on data from our discussions on this board? What happens if someone sues because you've used their data or content without their permission especially when it is copyrighted material? The ownership of data is a hot topic and things like a lack of bias and truth are vital for a commercial use of AI which is clearly not the reason why they've come here

Big thanks to DiBraidio for working on this. We spoke last night after he'd put the work in to see what was happening and making the changes. It's all way beyond me.

Re: Issues on Up the Clarets
I don’t think that was anything to do with us but I couldn’t get on at all. Not sure how long it lasted.
