Low than low as someone mentioned above. Astounding that someone wants to defend this. We have plenty of veterans that go to Turf Moor ( some who have suffered serious injuries) and I have a relation who was killed whilst serving and another who served. It’s a damned disgrace. Not what the police need right now either. The public purse meanwhile will fund him a fat pension.

I think there's a difference between a Walter Mitty and a liar.

Walts are not quite all there, whereas a liar is just that.

I've seen that one before. I bet he milked it for all its worth, including having pints bought in pubs.

I believe that if you get sacked for misconduct, you lose the pension. That's why policemen who are accused of wrongdoing usually resign to avoid being sacked.

This is interesting, and there's also some info about wearing medals in public.

He won’t be entitled to his pension and has rightfully lost his very privileged and well paid job.

It’s not lower than low, though. There’s bullshitters in all walks of life and people who bullshit about fabricated military exploits are just that - bullshitters.

Nothing more, nothing less.

A massive slap in the face to me and all the other English Civil War veterans.

Having read the links supplied in the OP I wouldn’t casually dismiss him as a bullshitter as you have done.

A bullshitter who did military service ...who'd have thought it?
What do you mean by this then? Or are you fishing again?

Knowing your past history with me steady Eddie you are probably trying to provoke a reaction.
Well here you go.
Furthermore if you want me to provide details of operational tours and medals I have I am more than happy to do so.
This is why people who have served consider it a really serious offence when people like this senior police chief are lying about service in our armed forces.

Summed it up for me perfectly, Jamesy. 25 years Army.

FYI
You don’t know who you are messing with Jamesy. Eddie made the GB Olympic Sking squad years ago. Well documented a few years ago. He’s modest and will likely deny this.

Crikey I had better watch my step. Is he the Eagle fella?
If so I reckon I am a better skier/long jumper than him just from three snow queens in the Army.
Those who have genuinely served in the Army will know what snow queens are!

I think I heard on the news that this fraud claimed to be a participant in the Falklands conflict, whereupon he would have been aged fifteen, so absolutely no due diligence was undertaken to clarify his claims during his job interview.

Had this occurred another person would have been offered the job.

The BBC report linked isn't very clear about when he started the bullshitting and whether it was a factor in him getting the job.

Oh, oh here we go again, another skirmish stirred up by you.
Don't you get fed up of it?
Just making the point that most servicemen and women tend not to talk about it, I've a mate in my local - an unassuming bloke - who served as a para in NI and yod never know.
You do get others who yap about where they were, what they did and so on and it's these bullshitters who are annoying.
As for the mock outrage and woke reaction on here to this issue, all I'd say is that my old man, who served in the Far East in the RAF in WW2, and his colleagues would probably **** themselves at this clown's behaviour and all the others, including you, who pretend to care.
Anyway, as you were, private.
I will be the bigger man now and not post in response to any more of your personal attacks.
For what it’s worth I kept quiet until you intimated about bullshitters and military careers. I too served in NI twice. Once in West Belfast during the period of the hunger strikes and once in South Armagh where one of my colleagues was killed.
I didn’t need to mention this but now you have prodded me I thought I would mention it before I go.

Mods could you please be so kind to delete my veterans ID card post please? I only posted it to show I wasn’t a bullshitter. Perhaps I was foolish to do so. You live and learn. I will not be commenting or responding to any posts in future where steady Eddie is involved.

So, we say farewell to able seaman Adderley , after sterling service aboard HMS Raleigh . Alas he appears to be keeping his ( rather good) police pension . One can only presume the nature of the gross misconduct was such that it wasn’t an “ outright “ criminal offence ? or didn’t relate directly to his previous carrying out his job ?

His punishment will be the total shame he’ll live with , the total loss of his friends , colleagues, reputation, respect ,family shame , his “ police family “ instantly disappeared.

A lonely retirement of tending his roses and w@nking beckons.
