A cracking bloke who made the supporter's club coach coming back from away games more bearable (usually because we'd lost back then in the 90's!)

His stories and wit had us fellow fans in stitches at times.

RIP Dave.

RIP BigDave.

A man I knew personally through Ste, James, the previous board and the Burnley fans team. A man with one of the biggest hearts ever. I always enjoyed chatting with him, he always asked about my kids and we kept in touch most recently via Facebook.

The Clarets family has lost a legend.

very sad to hear of Big Dave’s passing. He was one of my favourite posters who carried BFC in his heart. As many, I always looked forward to his paper reviews.

My sincere condolences to his family and sons. Let it be known to them that their dad was a legend on here, and by reading his posts it was more than clear what a warm & wonderful guy he was.

Rest in peace

I'm sorry to have to post this morning the sad news that Dave Wynne, who used to post on the board as BigDave48, has sadly passed away. I've just spoken to his youngest son James who told me he hadn't been well for a while. He was 76 and had suddenly deteriorated.

Dave was a very good friend of mine for a number of years and I am truly saddened at this news. My thoughts are with his sons Steven and James and their families at this time.

RIP Dave.
Really sorry to hear this, condolences to his family and friends. Like many others I enjoyed Dave’s reviews of the press, and found him good company whenever our paths crossed socially. RIP BigDave48, a sad loss to the Clarets community.

Incredibly sad news. A good friend not only to me for many years but to many other South West Clarets, particularly in the days when we first set it up and travelled to matches by coach. So many funny stories I could tell, my favourite being at Oldham in January when we were all stood outside waiting to hear whether the game was in or off. Dave was the first to decide it was off and when I asked him how he knew he responded, “they’re tekking t’pied away” !
RIP Dave, you will be sorely missed.

So very sad to learn of Big Daves passing. For years it was my Sunday ritual to search for his Review whether being in the jungles of Indonesia, the snow capped mountains of the Andes or war-torn countries of the Middle East and then spread all the news to fellow Brits who missed links from the homeland. Sincere condolences to his family and a BIG thank you for all the news and messages within the reviews that brought so much pleasure to all those guys in distant lands who really appreciated the news that Big Dave provided.
