That is Parkerball and it is going to get us promoted.
If it does it’ll have to be via the play-offs. No way you can get automatic scoring one goal a game. We’ll just end up drawing too many as has been the case so far.
And it’ll be totally unwatchable…

At least I’m not as dismissive as you’ve been about Jay and Houtondji in past posts.
You’re mistaking me for someone else there I’ve wanted Jay to start. I’ve no interest in a dialogue with someone like you who makes things up and who believes they know more than the rest of us.

I find the negativity from some of the fans very disappointing and hard to take.
No one is saying that everything in the garden is rosy but here we are, 16 games into the season sat in third place having achieved no where near our full potential.
Hopefully recruit a striker in January and let’s see where that leads us. UTC.

I’m pretty sure you are the poster who wrote he’d rather have a ‘past it’Sam Vokes in our team than Jay only a couple of weeks ago.
May be mistaken as your user name is a common one isn’t it.
By the way there’s nothing wrong with having conviction of your beliefs so your accusation of arrogance and pretention can go in the bin.

Wrong again, what I actually said was I thought he could offer as much as Jay or Hountondji right now, and we don’t know he couldn’t. That wasn’t being dismissive of our players as you call it more praise for Vokes. And of course you can have conviction of your beliefs but the way you wrote it WAS arrogant and pretentious. With your superior knowledge I’m surprised you aren’t scouting for us. Bye Elizabeth enjoy the view from your moral high ground.

Possible, but there’s also never been a team not promoted with the current defensive record we have (extrapolated over a season). Yesterday was very watchable, more of that hopefully.

Wonder what the record is for the lowest number of goals conceded in the Championship.

Considering he’s not played since August I doubt he could offer as much right now.
Happy to continue this at the end of the season as and when Flemming gets a good run of games to back up my assessment of him.

When I said right now I was meaning when I said it at the time, a month or so ago, you’re right he quite probably couldn’t offer too much but most people had written Jay off until yesterday, I wasn’t one of them I’ve wanted him up top for a while at least it gives us balance, and I’d like to see Flemming behind him in his proper position. I actually like him a lot, I’m not sure he’s our best player but that’s just opinions, let’s hope he gets a run and not as a number 9 and he can thrive we all want that.

In my opinion Flemming is our best player and I regard it as a big blow that he couldn’t play today. His season has hardly got started and the last thing we need is another injury, no matter how small.
Fleming is a decent player and works hard..
our Best Player..as it stands No..
What do you see in Him to suggest that.
Against in My Opinion our Best most consistent Player so Far this Season Esteve.

I think the issue here is my description of him as our ‘best’ player at a time when we haven’t had a chance to see him play his game , due to his injuries and our inadequacies up front. I wouldn’t argue with your description of Esteve who has had a injury free season , is playing in his accustomed position and has the support of players such as Egan Riley.
Flemming has a pedigree at Championship level as an attacking midfielder scoring plenty of goals. This ability to score freely from midfield when we don’t have any goal scorers puts him ahead of any non defender. I don’t think that’s very hard. My Millwall supporting friend says as well as scoring , he is full of running , scores with his head and feet and is strong on the ball.
Now we could enter the world of being pedantic when comparing positions on the field but I don’t think it’s a bold claim to have him as my favourite ‘best player’. I think automatic promotion is likely to depend on how many games he plays this season , a stop start season for him will hurt us in my opinion unless we really can get a goal scoring forward in.
If he gets a good injury free run of games and disappoints then I’ll have to ask myself did I over estimate him. I don’t think that will happen though

If...IF...we keep our current form going, we should
beat that comfortably.
Then it's a case of coming up with more goals.

We won away against the current top team. I’d say that’s pretty good.

I wonder how many other fans of teams two points off top after roughly a third of the season, with the best defensive record in all four top divisions would keep banging on about how bad they are? To be honest I’m astounded at the stick being given to Parker and some players, especially after an almost complete rebuild.
I think one or two of our fans need to grow up slightly.

Amazing how quiet it is on here when we win
Very good performance today. Should have put the game to bed with chances in the second half, but well managed 3 points in the end. UTC
I think it’s quiet because of all the so called fans who seem to want us to lose to justify their anti Parker agenda. One clown on the BBC comments after the report even said we can’t see games out, which is exactly what we did today and have actually done in most games this season given that we’ve only lost two in the league.
Absurdity rules.

Your partly right about the stick that Parker and the players don’t deserve the stick they’re getting but suggesting that it’s only Burnley fans that give stick under the same condition is a load of ******** ,Have a look on the Rovers board just as an example, every club had its moaners and happy clappers.

Totally agree, but Rovers fans have something to gripe about. My son-in-law included. Their annual post Christmas collapse has come early. And I believe I said ‘I wonder how many…’ not that there were none.

Crystal Palace conceded 24 in 1978-79. Only 42 games, so that would be equivalent of 26 over a 46 game season. (They scored 51.)
I don't know if that's the all time record. I just looked in the seventies because that was a time of low scoring.

Got to love Bard, it's a trier...
"The lowest number of goals conceded in a Football League Championship season is 19. This record was set by Burnley in the 2015-16 season"

If you extrapolate our goalscoring record over a season (~0.71 per game since MD3 + 9 scored on MD1+2) it comes out at 41. The highest ever finish with that number of goals scored is 12th (Luton 20/21)
GD would be +23 which, historically, is play-off level.
Bit of a nonsense really as it's probably not going to look anything like that in reality but it was an interesting way to spend a couple of minutes.

All we need for Christmas is a goal scorer.
Alan might have to splash the cash to get one, the defence is solid and the manager is working hard to get us promoted.
Well done Scotty and the lads.

Top of the league Leeds shipped 3 goals yesterday and only scraped a win in the last minute against a team lower down than Bristol. We came under considerable pressure and still didn't concede, huge positive for me.
The Championship isn't all that and we are doing fine given the hand Parker has been dealt (including our massive injury list).

Every single team will have it's quota (maybe 2% at a guess) of malcontents who won't feel remotely happy until their team have thrashed Barca in the Champs League final, having pumped every other team along the way... and some not even then.
