He was meant to be playing last night but did not turn up for the match. I would have him sat on the bench for the rest of the season and not give him a transfer. Whoever does get him though he will do it again. It's how we got him from Swansea and Swansea got him from derby.
Now I think he will go to Boro. If you take when he was showing what he is capable of he was playing alongside finn azaz. They continued there form together in the championship. Type of person he is well boro could be the team he gets the media attention he craves

It would be a brave man to bank on a Boro promotion when 2 of the 4 sides going gangbusters at the top will be in the playoffs. All that media attention can only come from playing opposite his old England U20 buddies, Saka, Gordon etc.

Obviously money talks and if both us and Boro have put in bids and Boro have bid more then that’s where he’ll go. If it’s getting to the top flight as quickly as possible then we’re probably the better fit, if it’s excelling and putting himself in the window for a better PL move than us then Boro is the better option.

They score loads of goals, better than us in forward areas and have a manager who wants to attack. If he knocks in 20+ goals next season for them, he’ll likely get a better move than us (to a Palace, Fulham, Bournemouth).

I’d honestly be surprised if he felt a move here was better for his career long term.

We definitely need more quality from wide / central areas. I’m not convinced Whittaker is the answer - I suspect we have better in the non-playing Tresor, but that’s only good if he can be got on the pitch.

Not sure how I feel about (potentially) signing Whittaker. He seems a decent player so I'll be happy if he signs and I will obviously back him, but equally I am not sure I'll be upset if we don't sign him (with the caveat that we sign an alternative).

From what we have heard, it sounds like we have pursued this deal for a while now, so I imagine he is very close to the top of our priorities.
