Re: Rovers fans in turmoil
There was a thread on Twitter last week where they were genuinely discussing Jose Mourinho..with no sense of incredulity. Taking what he said about starting lower down and wanting a challenge
They literally have no self-awareness. Each one of them fed into the others delusions until it became "why aren't the Venkys ringing him up?" Was a bizarre but hilarious read.

More chance of Shebby Singh being brought back as “ New Manager Recruitment Specialist “. As stated before BRFC, the gift that keeps on giving.Somethingfishy wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2025 3:18 pmThere was a thread on Twitter last week where they were genuinely discussing Jose Mourinho..with no sense of incredulity. As mentioned on here many times especially by those of us that know some of them: they are without doubt amongst the most utterly deluded, entitled fanbases who do not appear to have an once of self awareness of the importance they put on themselves.
It is both bewildering and hilarious at the same time. Every time you think they'll learn their lesson and keep quiet, they're at it again, spouting off about this and that only to make themselves look like buffoons again.
Rinse and repeat. 5 in a row at Ewood.
And they call us dingles. Irony overload.

With respect Ricardo, any knob measuring is just in your head. I pointed out figures that clearly any perception of Blackburn as some kind of serious big deal in English football pre-Walker is utterly fatuous.RicardoMontalban wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2025 1:46 pm
Getting into a knob measuring argument over mid-80’s average attendances is one of the most pointless things ever.
Eighties or not...clubs such as Swindon Town in the fourth tier were getting far higher gates. We weren't exactly distinguishing ourselves either, but we're not claiming to be some kind of giant club.

But whatever, no one in their right mind considers Rovers a ‘big deal’, but equally the argument you were making was somewhat moot as nobody had decent attendance figures in those days.

Youre simply not trying to understand....yes, I know attendances generally were lower then, and thats totally irrelevant to my point....Blackburn were 41st....that's the point ok?....41st....so a very little deal in football terms..and not a big deal.

Re: Rovers fans in turmoil
Don’t worry. I get perfectly well what you’re trying to say, it’s not exactly sophisticated. I just felt pulling a random season out of your ass from 40 years ago and pointing at the average attendance was a bit, basic. There’s plenty to laugh at them for. As Bosscat points out their crowing about FAcup wins when most were won pre moving pictures is hilarious.
So Rovers’ fortunes were boosted by a wealthy benefactor bankrolling them is hardly breaking news. They weren’t a big deal, then for a brief spell they were a big(ish) deal (a period I had the misfortune of being at school in Blackburn for), and now they’re not a big deal again. Happy days.

5,000 is a ninth of the 45,000 United were getting..! That would mean to be similar United would have to get gates of 150,000. Even a gate of 25,000 is 5 times bigger, which would mean the average PL team would be getting 80,000.RicardoMontalban wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2025 9:01 pmEh? Walker invested in their academy. It wasn't all just for the present.JR1882 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 23, 2025 9:23 pmYou can argue that Jack Walker was a bad owner given that he ran the club beyond its means for so long with no plan for what might happen when the money ran out after he had gone.
Surely he had an idea that the family couldn’t be arsed with it and would sell to the highest bidder?

I remember when after years of struggles Man City finally got promoted to the Premier League.Juan Tanamera wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2025 6:22 pmI've seen the rovers fan on bookface today and he said he would gladly sacrifice a a playoff spot if it meant us missing out on automatic promotion.
Their level of ambition these days, how sad.
A totally City Die Hard work mate said. “ I Don’t care if we get relegated again next season as long as we take 6 points off those United Bs. “
Relegation at any price?

Ismael did an interview with Radio Lancs where he seemed to suggest that having so many players out of contract at the end of the season gave him the opportunity to get in the kind of players that he wanted for the next season in the Championship.
I hope he’s right

Perhaps so...... unfortunately, what he doesn't realise is that the Venks are not going to give him a bean.BleedingClaret wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2025 7:55 pmIsmael did an interview with Radio Lancs where he seemed to suggest that having so many players out of contract at the end of the season gave him the opportunity to get in the kind of players that he wanted for the next season in the Championship.

I also am of the opinion that the Venks are winding the operation down. It certainly seems that way to me. The lack of renewal talks for those OOC at the end of the season must be a huge worry to them. I would imagine the players will already be tasking their agents to get them out of there......

Not arsed about individual results but I would love them to finish 7th to Tony Mowbray on goal difference again.
Big turnover in Summer and a very average manager should see them down amongst the dead men next season.
