I didn’t call him racist, I just pointed out that the phrase he used isn’t accepted in this current woke world.HurstGrangeClaret wrote: ↑Sun Mar 02, 2025 9:58 pmSadly, you are yet another person willing to throw the racist allegation around without any real evidence. The fact that the poster was trying to make a serious point seems to have passed you by completely.
As I said about a previous poster on a now deleted thread, people like you are dangerous.
Why behave like this to a fellow Claret?

Think you’re playing at semantics there. The suggestion is there and despite all the other points raised in the post, this was what you had to pick out.
But then you do have previous for your controversial comments.

Not about disbelieving anyone he may have simply misheard what was said, I have no idea what was actually said and if it can be proved that he used a racist slur then he should have the book thrown at him. What we tend to forget here is that there are 2 people involved neither of which has English as there first language and I believe Osmiric is particularly poor at speaking it Hannibal’s is actually quite good though so it could just be a total misinterpretation of what was said.daveisaclaret wrote: ↑Sun Mar 02, 2025 12:37 pmWe do know actually as Hannibal has told us. You can chose to disbelieve him but don't act like it's a neutral decision.
What is striking is the similarities between this and the Jay rod incident a few years ago. Not necessarily in what happened, I think Jays was more about context rather than what was said I don’t think that was ever doubted, but in the fan reaction. I find both our side and PNEs reaction disgusting we are labelling a guy who may be innocent as guilty already and PNE are criticising a player for reporting racism whilst outwardly supporting someone who may be a racist. We and Brighton were exactly the same though Brighton to this day will call Jay a racist without any proof and our fans booed Bong incessantly when he played here for just reporting what he believed to be racism and supported Jay even though he may have been racist. For clarity I actually believe Jays side of the story but what I believe and reality may not be the same we will never know probably will be the same here as well.

Re: Preston fans
Just wondering what someone would have to say to you that was racist if you were a working/middle class person of "white" English ethnicity, as I'm assuming the "race" of most users of this forum are ? And would you be offended by it ?
And is there a difference between Racial Discrimination and Racial obscenity ? Is obscenity itself punishable ? Or is obscenity only offensive and punishable if it's accompanied by a string of (blatently untrue & insulting) descriptors ?

Re: Preston fans
Racial discrimination is when you actively commit an act that discriminates against a person’s race/ethnicity.
Racial obscenity would be if you used insulting words/language with reference to a person’s race/ethnicity and would be an offence under the Public Order Act.
The race/ethnicity of the said person would be immaterial.
