Very difficult to say anything meaningful.

It really is. They were both much younger than my two daughters. Unimaginable how their family must feel.

RIP

Horrendous beyond words. RIP.

Just goes to show that life for all of us relies on luck and random “wrong time wrong place” situations.

A word of support for Liverpool players too. It’ll be so hard mentally to not blame themselves, e.g. blaming themselves for not winning their dominant 2022 CL Final which would have seen Jota in the US not in Spain today. Mental health isn’t always logical so I feel for them and very much hope we give them our full respect at the Turf in August.

We take that fragility of life for granted sometimes, and shouldn’t.
This is clearly a dreadful occurrence, and a tragic loss of life for such a young man with his whole life ahead of him. Thoughts are with his family and friends.

The thread is full of lovely messages…. And then there’s this one, which tbh I find a little strange. How on earth you get from your first two paragraphs to one suggesting his team mates will blame themselves for winning a game is utterly bizarre. I’d suggest it won’t even enter their head. They will be sad, and upset, even heartbroken. Anything else is like trying to extend seven degrees of separation to seventy.

Let's not turn it into something it wasn't. It looks like he was slightly.clumsily making a point about the butterfly effect of that particular scenario. There was nothing particularly strange or offensive.

Absolutely gutted about this.

One of those players i always enjoyed watching and for such a small guy scored so many headers.

You felt by watching him that he was a true fan of football from the terraces that made it big.

Always a big smile on his face.

RIP Diogo

Andy Robertsons post :(
Says it all really
Having lost a son myself I just cant imagine what the Jotas' parents are going through having lost two sons in this tragedy; their pain will be unimaginable and be with them forever. Time heals I know but no parent expects to bury their child no matter what their age.
RIP the Jottas, if there is a God may their parents' God be a comfort for them now and forever.
