In that interview Pace talked about taking risks.KRBFC wrote: ↑Wed Jun 08, 2022 11:46 pmI just don't see how a club gets relegated with £125m in debts (65 MSD, 60m Garlick) and remains competitive with £50m income. We look more like a Blackburn, Bolton, Sunderland (those 3 went down again) than a Newcastle, Norwich, Burnley of old(3 clubs set up financially and squad wise to bounce back).
If the entire parachute payments of £40m is going to MSD. Who is paying the wages?
I believe Chester recently said Garlick and the others were due £25m+ in the coming weeks, I assume that's the first instalment.
I suspect we will take out more loans to try and get promoted at the first try

Are we going to get our own video of VK shouting at the team? Come on boys!
Re: Name the next manager
and if we don't get promoted, we're absolutely ******? seems like a hell of a risk to take, not that it matters, it's not ALK's money at risk.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 08, 2022 11:48 pmIn that interview Pace talked about taking risks.

Re: Name the next manager
Exactly. As far as ALK are concerned, their investment in BFC is worthless whether we're a stable mid-table championship club or whether we're a bankrupt basket case. Their only profit is in PL status.
Ah well. My mother and I are spending our share dividend on two years' worth of Longside Lounge seats, for which we would certainly never pay the price if it was real money we had to spend! we'll enjoy the football, we'll enjoy the meals, and as for the future- what will be, will be.

I guess we've gotta just enjoy the rollercoaster ride, flip the coin and pray.

Re: Name the next manager
It is pretty scary.
Looking at it on a positive view, Kompany should get some decent players in with his name and hopefully there’s some decent money available.
Just got to hope he can deliver the goods a lot is riding on it.

All any of us can do. We’ve hit oil at speed as a club before, begging bits of the council… it wasn’t good, but it was never boring.

Re: Name the next manager
I understand Dyche's target was to get to the Premier League at the end of his second full season at the club. The club was a little surprised that Dyche achieved it a season early. The club didn't have the finances ready to invest in Dyche's first season in the Premier League. Of course, one season in the Premier League plus parachute payment the following season prepared the club for promotion, again, two seasons after the first one.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 08, 2022 10:54 pmTbf Claretandjew were either of them Managers brought in with the specific target of promotion in there first season.

Any chance this thread can get back to the subject matter, there's enough threads guessing what the financial state of play is without another one

Yes please.
Vincent Kompany. I’m excited. I’m also convinced he would not have taken the job without assurance of a busy window with incomings.
Not expecting an announcement today, so that would be a surprise.

i wasn't even aiming this at anyone especially you. i didn't even mention any names. i was showing concern. Spending hours in front of the computer screen definitely influences the emotional and physical well-being of a teenager. Another danger is that of cyberbullying. i know a few people on this board have mentioned you can be a bit of a bully (again not a dig). A lot of teenagers who have self-esteem issues resort to bullying others that's why im saying its not a good idea to be constantly on here. go out for a walk with your friends. go to the youth club. go to the cinema with them. get yourself a pet and take it for a walk.

Struggling to get my head round the “next week” bit. If we’ve had a work permit, what’s the delay now? If we’ve not had one yet, how do they know it’ll be next week?RVclaret wrote: ↑Thu Jun 09, 2022 7:28 amhttps://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footb ... -week.html

Must be some sources close to VK/the club giving these indications.
Whether that’s work permit related or final paperwork related who knows

Maybe we’re going to announce VK, the retained list, 6 new signings and the new kit all at once in a single announcement

Although not announced it would be naive to think that he is just sat there twiddling his thumbs. Contact with other clubs re players will be made, videos watched, training plans etc drafted.

That is exactly what some would have us believe though. Due to the board not making daily or weekly announcements or updates it meant we were doing nothing.

Re: Name the next manager
I suspect he will be working on tactics etc…
But can he legally contact other clubs re players if he doesn’t have a work permit?
Re: Name the next manager
Must be able to have some conversations with our owners, then they go and speak to the clubs.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 09, 2022 8:09 amI suspect he will be working on tactics etc…

VK will also have contacts at City etc that he can have an ‘informal chat’ with.
Otherwise the links with Harwood Bellis / Muric at City wouldn’t have come up.

Re: Name the next manager
Obviously it's all in how you read it. I don't see anything in there definitely saying that. As quickly as possible isn't necessarily the same as straightaway. It may (or may not) be that they're accepting that it may require a season of rebuilding before it is possible to mount a serious promotion challenge.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 08, 2022 11:33 pmThe last official words we heard from Pace back in April.
"It is very important to be in the Premier League, that is our goal," said Pace. "We want a level of consistency so that people don’t even question it. However it is not the end of the world if we go down, it should focus us to get back as quickly as possible and make us put our energies and efforts in because it is that important to us.”
Quite clear Pace is setting the target of promotion at the first try.

Re: Name the next manager
Officially both the club and the individual could be prosecuted if Kompany started working before his visa was approved (and it could also be grounds for turning the application down).Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 09, 2022 8:09 amI suspect he will be working on tactics etc…

Re: Name the next manager
And that's the big problem with this ownership. They don't have any liability or emotional attachment to the club so they will be willing to take huge risks.

.....and another day passes by.
Just a few words from BFC re the general current state re manager, contracts and transfer would be nice. Don't even have to mention names really
They are acting like airline companies who have just cancelled your flight where explanations and commmunications never appear.

Nixon said today that we have been busy on the transfer front
Re: Name the next manager
He also said he’ll mention the names at the weekend. Has already said Harwood Bellis (which two other journos backed up) and Muric. I find his info quite good.
