The arrogance of Man city and Arsenal

Post by northeastclaret » Sun Jan 22, 2017 7:42 pm

What is it with these top teams, they believe they have a god given right not to concede penalties or have players sent off for bad challenges.

If referees do penalize them they spit their dummies out and behave like petulant children , managers, players and fans a like. But the reality is they usually end up with the best of the decisions over the whole game. The refs at City and today were good but because the home teams didn't get every decision their behavior was appalling.

We could probably add Mourinho to that last as well.

Dyche and our club has dignity and class these top teams don't.

Dyche was certainly very dignified,I thought, in his post-match interview. As for Wenger, the least said the better. An embarrassing about turn from his childish antics pitchside to a pathetic attempt at humourless self deprecation. I know which one I prefer managing my football team.

Yes, and as a result of their antics they get more than their fair share of decisions going in their favour ... it's called gamesmanship

I think it often comes down to embarrassment. Mourinho couldn't beat us, Pep did (only just) thanks to an freakish finish from one of the world's best players, and Wenger has needed suspiciously poor decisions to help him twice.

Jose and Arsene were both sent off and Pep gave a classless interview showing the strain.

The fact is they know full well they are paid zillions to manage players earning zillions and they are about as good as Burnley... a team with brilliantly managed players, earning a fraction, who always turn up and never sulk.

And they also realise everybody else knows it too. I'd be embarrassed.

Managers not getting their own way when they're expected too, un-surprising reactions.

Yes they can't cope with little old Burnley potentially taking points off them :D
