Is anyone going off here? I know we have a decent cricket following on this board.
Seeing as it will be Jimmys last performance in Australia I'm trying to get out there, been pricing it up. Anyone been and got decent links I can look at for Accomadation etc?

Re: Ashes 2017/18
Went to Perth, Melbourne and Sydney in 2006/07.
Getting tickets was a bit of a struggle; had a contact in Oz who joined the member ship scheme for us. MCG was ok due to the size of the place, managed to get on day for Perth then bout off touts (also known as the Barmy Army). Didn't get any for Sydney but bought some when we got there, although to be honest the interest in cricket had seriously waned by then.
Rented house/ apartments for digs but there was 6 of us so cost spread out pretty cheaply.
We flew from Perth to Adelaide then drive down the Great Ocean Road to Melbourne, camping on the way.
We stayed just over the road from the North Sydney Oval which is a lovely ground; I think some of the old stands from the SCG were rebuilt there when it was redeveloped.
Would love to do it again but it won't be for a few years.

Re: Ashes 2017/18
Sounds amazing.
I'm looking at going for all 5 tests but on my own with a few mates coming out for Melbourne and Sydney.
Hostels look to be the favourite to keep costs down and meeting new people.

Hopefully going to Perth

Don't think it will be too much of a problem to get tickets when you're out there. Long way to punt though!

I don't think it's much of a problem getting tickets out there unless you want to sit with the Barmy army then they try and sell their packages on you.

Don't tell sidney1st that you are thinking of booking travel tickets more than a week before the test matches start or he will have a heart attack.
I would love to do the Ashes down under but can't do this year.
Fancy our chances against a poor Aussie squad although ours hasn't shaped up too well in Bangladesh and India.
Whilst Leisure is bored during the summer perhaps he could organise an "Accy clarets to Pakistan for the cricket" tour or similar for next year?
It would give him something to do
