The Deadly Game

Post by Funkydrummer » Sun Apr 16, 2017 3:01 pm

Some may recall that, on Clarets Mad, some time ago on a thread about old TV dramas I
recalled a drama first aired on the BBC at Christmas 1982, which was in fact a televised play. The
story line was that of an American salesman who was trapped in a snow storm on a mountain
in Switzerland and called at a big house for shelter.

The house is occupied by four retired lawyers who offer him dinner and then start to
indulge themselves in their interpretation of a parlour game. This results in the visitor
being put on trial.

I have been searching for this for years, and I have discovered that it appeared on youtube
in October last year, much to my delight. It is not of the best quality but it is still watchable. The
content is as good as ever. This is the cast :-

Emile Carpeau . . . . . . . .Robert Morley
Bernard Laroque . . . . . . Emlyn Williams
Joseph Pillet . . . . . . . . .Alan Webb
Nicole . . . . . . . . .. .... .Lesley Dunlop
Pierre . . . . . . . . . . . . . Brian Croucher
Howard Trapp . . . . . . . .George Segal
Gustave Kummer . . . . . .Trevor Howard
A Visitor . . . . . . . . . . . Connie Booth

I will not spoil it for anyone who wants to watch it, which I thoroughly recommend.
