The best decade in the history of the human race?

Man on the moon
World Cup Winners
Racial equality
The contraceptive pill
Star Trek
Beatles
Rolling Stones
Tamla Motown
Kinks
Carol King
Northern Soul
Groundbreaking films
The Graduate
Blazing Saddles
The Sound of Music
Star Trek

etc etc etc

Computers, the internet and social media blow your list out of the water. Now is the best time to be alive

Overpaid footballers don't concern me

1. Faked. ;)
2. Brazil beat us in 1970, and the Germans won it in '74.
3. There has always been racial equality. It just hasn't always been acknowledged.
13 & 14. Blazing Saddles and The Sound Of Music were crap.
15. I wouldn't have included Star Trek once; never mind twice.

Constant threat of nuclear destruction.
3 day week
Power cuts
National strikes
School (in my case!)
Burnley relegated

The only compensation was music.

Music is available to everyone on demand st anytime now.

One of the reasons people cherished a particular song is because they had to listen to loads of crap on the chart show first.

There were some good number ones, though.

A great period of time. Social media helps quick communication but something has definately been lost.

The only thing better from the good old days is patience, a word that's quickly becoming obsolete.
