Final Day TV Selections
Sky Sports Main Event - Coventry v Middlesbrough
Sky Sports Football - West Brom v Luton
Sky Sports + - Portsmouth v Hull
Nothing showing yet but I assume the other nine games are all on the red button

Re: Final Day TV Selections
Sky must be quietly confident of Bristol City winning at dirty Leeds tonight and us beating Millwall so they've gone for games with something at stake.

I'd say that's a fair assumption. Poor commentary and even worse camera editing.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon Apr 28, 2025 5:14 pmSky Sports Main Event - Coventry v Middlesbrough

Re: Final Day TV Selections
The league title is the number 1 achievement in the EFL and it is up in the air with 1 game to go. Quite why Sky think playoff battles or relegations are more worthy of screening defies belief.
Are we really so obsessed with the race for qualifying for things now ahead of winning trophies? I find it all very tiring.

I agree with this. It’s sad how much PL money has diminished the achievement of winning the league. It’s simply all about promotion now.CrosspoolClarets wrote: ↑Mon Apr 28, 2025 5:56 pmThe league title is the number 1 achievement in the EFL and it is up in the air with 1 game to go. Surely you want to show a game that might end with a side lifting a trophy as part of your broadcast?

Re: Final Day TV Selections
I am not at all surprised by the games selected for final day coverage. Once Saturday’s games are completed the next big “sell” for the broadcaster are the several rounds of playoff matches so obviously they want to take every opportunity to promote them. The automatic spots are already filled as far as Sky are concerned.

Re: Final Day TV Selections
The fact that Sky are advertising their coverage of the upcoming Championship playoffs as “The Greatest Show” underscores the point in my earlier post.

Re: Final Day TV Selections
I think if I was a neutral I’d rather watch Cov v Boro, with both teams playing for something big, than either the Burnley or Leeds games, where both teams have already won the biggest prize. That said, Burnley v Milwall has something riding on it for both teams - although it’s likely that neither team will be in control of their destinies which could make for a damp squib.

Re: Final Day TV Selections
It was said on Sky tonight (might have been Sky news or the DL match coverage) that all 12 matches in the Championship will be televised, so I guess we're on Sky Sports+.

Indeed, but 2 of the 3 matches are relegation battles where little money is at stake.kentonclaret wrote: ↑Mon Apr 28, 2025 6:36 pmI am not at all surprised by the games selected for final day coverage. Crazy they've turned down the chance to show Leeds again

Re: Final Day TV Selections
Here in the US, appears that the game is down to be shown live on Paramount+. (Have been able to see virtually every game live on that channel this season, good deal for $30)
Re: Final Day TV Selections
Cov Boro is a huge winner takes all (potentially).
You’d expect Bristol to get a point and with Millwall & Rovers both having tough away games Boro can knock their hosts out of the top 6 with a win.
Although the final day does seem to throw up some strange results!
