Thought this was gonna be a recipe for gods own foodstuff.

Oh well, grilled it is.

Shame we can’t locate these leeches, and punish them accordingly. Obvious to some, but won’t be to others. If they get one hit every 100 they’ll be doing ok out of it. Thieving shitehawks they are…

We had something like this last week on the board where they'd targeted his 90 year old mother-in-law.

Someone, somewhere should be able to take action against those involved in these scams. It's an absolute disgrace.

I realised the world had gone mad when I saw Spam fritters on the starters menu in a Ribble Valley pub priced at £14.00. And that was 15 years ago.

Yes that was My mother in law , and she keeps apologising to me for being so stupid (her words not mine) I keep telling her I don't think that of her . It real gets me wound up that **** can do this to our family's . All we can do is try to give guidance and be there for them.

Latest scam sent to my mother in law this morning, You have incurred a parking ticket in the last 14 days and the Charge is £100 unless paid within the next 7 days then reduced to £25 click on this link for further details . She has not had a car in her name for over 12 months. Ive checked that the longest a charge could still be applied is 7 months.
These people are clever enough to think these things up , surely they are clever enough to get a proper job, and not need to rip off people in there 90s

Guys, this isn't "spam" it's spelt scam.

The world is full of people out to scam other people. In the 1980s/90s it used to be low volume, letters mailed with the hope that someone would be fooled, perhaps with 10% pay out from aiding the scammed to move a lot of money from an otherwise dormant bank account to somewhere outside the jurisdiction.

Then the internet, emails, social media, mass communications has multiplied the scale many, many, times over. Cheap to send out millions of emails, sms, phone calls, social media - whatever we use to communicate. The scammers are happy if they get 1 in 100,000 hits.

We always need to be aware. Some obvious rules to reduce your risks, but the scammers will know these rules better than any of us. They will keep probing and seeking to find the weak spot. Look after each other - it's not always the older person that falls victim. It can be any of us.
