I took my dad to his first Burnley match for 19 years today. He watched them all the time in the 50s and 60s, but hasn't been able to go for ages for health reasons. When we left the game he climbed in the car, put on his seatbelt and said "I'll probably leave it twenty years this time."
Hoping for a decent cup run in 2037...

That sounds like something my Dad would have said.
Me: "Did you enjoy that?"
Dad: "Marvellous"

What a shame the performance and result couldn't have been better on the day! We'll have won the Champions League at least 3 times by the time he next comes to a game
