Re: Ireland v Austria
Our 4th choice centre-back is a starter for Ireland. I'm not sure if this is a credit to our quality or shows how bad Ireland's centre-backs are.
Re: Ireland v Austria
Or Brighton's first choice CB is starting for Ireland lol.
Br interesting to see how whelan gets on with hendrick in the middle.

Timing perfect with cricket just finished. I think I'd have switched to the football though with four Clarets playing.Vegas Claret wrote:nice heads up, on the tv here

Not just Dyche who thinks that Brady can play on the right then.

. thinks that was a bad minute for Brady. A terrible free kick followed by a booking a few seconds later.

All four clarets noticeably poor so far... Not much to pick from the rest of the squad though.
Christie looks decent.

Re: Ireland v Austria
Whoever thought it would be a great idea to make European teams play a World Cup Qualifier 3 weeks after the end of the season should be taken out and shot at dawn! Our players were already on holiday mentally for 2 weeks before May 21st

We should maybe consider Brady at left-back next season if he still struggles.

FBs on the post have changed this match. Austria score, Long doesn't.
Re: Ireland v Austria
None of our lads great, although a super Brady corner just headed in by Long but cleared off line.

Robbie Brady has been directly involved in six goals in his last nine internationals for the Republic of Ireland (three goals, three assists).

Re: Ireland v Austria
Ohhh well another draw yesterday , look not the worst result I the world , but Austria did very well , we had chances but not to be . Just saw Duffy's goal and I think leading with his arm if I am honest , I was behind that gaol and it looked at the time that he took yer man out .
Still in our own hands which is the important thing .

Better behind the gaol than in it, Tribesmen.Tribesmen wrote: I was behind that gaol
Totally agree about Duffy leading with his arm. Even if he didn't make contact it was there and made the refs decision easy.
