Off topic but I really liked the way Bournemouth introduced the teams by flickering the floodlights and stadium lights.

1) i've had a friend round whos taken out a kitchen spotlight, and put it back in. Just to check the fitting to replace. He has also done the same in my bathroom

2) Had a new oven fitted in the kitchen last week hardwired

could it be any of these?

Any or all of them mate, but it will be one of them - possibly the lights as it’s them affected.

I’d go for the kitchen as the bathroom is going to be one of the last on the lighting circuit if it’s not a separate circuit to downstairs lights.

I use Plex for all my lighting. Perfect HD lighting with no flickering 100% all the time.

Can also be an issue on the mains supply side. Check if your neighbours have the same and that the mains supply coming into your house isn't loose.

Electric wiring wants a thorough check every now and again anyway. Seems like a good time. When you compare the cost of having it done compared with the potential cost of not having it done - just do it.

Electric lights flicker when the bulb's about to blow the fuse. Maybe a bigger fuse is a bit overloaded?

A relative of mine had a similar problem recently, was found to be the main wiring coming into his property that was the cause and had to be replaced.

There's normally a little control box that allows you to change the pattern of your Fairy lights.

You could set it so they don't flicker at all :D

Only if it’s a neutral fault!
You would need to check every third house for them to be on the same phase as your house,
Three phase supplies alternate between each house.
