Coincidences

Post by Cryssys » Wed Jul 11, 2018 2:59 pm

Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere.

1966
Burnley qualify for Europe
Real Madrid win European Cup
Manchester City win the league
Chelsea finish fifth
England win the World Cup

2018
Burnley qualify for Europe
Real Madrid win European Cup
Manchester City win the league
Chelsea finish fifth

It’s coming home…

Crashed and burned. Found it somewhere else so serves me right for not verifying it myself.

Hope Ringo doesn't see this.

Manchester City won the old second division, it doesn't specifically mention which league ;)

Yes, but ask anyone who won the league this year, no one is saying Wolves - apart from maybe Wolves fans.

Everton won the FA Cup in 1966. It's nailed on

Actually, Wolves did win the league this year in a way that City certainly didn't in '66.

Last time we won a penalty shoot out in a major tournement we reached the semi's, went 1-0 up in first 5 mins, drew 1-1 and lost on penaltys.... Is our manager allowed to take one?

Another coincidence 1990 England lose a World Cup semi-final,4 months later Margaret Thatcher faces a leadership challenge, and ultimately stands down,i'd be worried if my name was Theresa May.
